Hello,
I've tried MFP a few times but seem to lose motivation. My weight has never been stable, it's been a roller coaster my entire life. I dont seem to have support from anyone in my life so thought maybe I could make friends and support on here. :)
I'm starting today and plan to weigh in every Wednesday, plus I just signed up at the gym so plan to go almost everyday. Does anyone else need the extra motivation?

My current weight is 142 and my goal is 120. I know its not a lot but its really difficult for me to get motivated and stay motivated.

Hello! If 1977 is your birthday, then I guess we're the same age. :D I have counted calories successfully in the past, but I was a lot younger last time I tried (now 42, going on 43). I am at 209 and I want to get down to 164. I'm afraid to start exercising because I don't want to make myself any hungrier! This 1600 calorie nonsense has me completely ravenous.

Feel free to add me as a friend if you like!

I totally get that ... i find weight lifting works best for me. It boosts my metabolism, plus the more muscle you have the more calories you'll burn throughout the day :)

I have the adjustable dumbbells! I just have to use them! I love weight training.

Can I add both of you? I only have one active friend and need motivation.
    Thanks!

On the contrary, sherbear, reading your initial post, I'd say it's harder to get from 142 to 120 than it is to lose a lot of weight. Like, I know I shouldn't eat ice cream, so if I stop doing that, I'll lose weight. But if you're at 142, it means that by and large your habits are OK. So I will totally respect you for getting to 120!!!

Yes, working out in the evenings helps.
