I'm a female(i know i know obvious in the profile pic) and I always sleep on the right side of the bed. My fiance says he always has slept on the left (when sleeping with someone of course) So I am wondering do most males sleep on the left side of the bed. Any couples out there that switch sides? crazy but I have never even thought of not having a side. Reference point being looking down at the bed from the ceiling (you know like a sexy mirror hehe)

Right or left, which is your reference point? Looking at the bed standing in front of it? Or laying in bed? If laying in bed, I'm on the left, if looking at the bed standing in front, I'm on the right.0

I take the whole king-sized bed all to myself :yawn:0

I sleep on the extreme right side of the bed...he sleeps in recliner in living room....the ten pound dog sleeps in the middle of the bed, completely stretched out and dreams about chasing squirrels all night0
-
Right now I'm sleeping on the left- but I have moved a few times in the last couple years & my fiance always picks the side closest to the wall... not sure why though0

I'm a wierdo... I always slee furthest from the door. Doesn't matter if it's left or right. I subconsciously think that if a murderer were to come into our home, he'd only kill the person closest to him when he enters the room. He'd probably not go to the trouble of walking around the bed. I know it doesn't make sense!!0

haha this was us last night, except when he's not in bed I tend to sleep in the fetal position but with my legs out straight ahead, it's weird but super comfortable.0 -

My girlfriend does exactly the same, has the same thoughts etc. I have to get used to swapping when we stay somewhere!0 -
I prefer the side closest to the bathroom! In both our apartment and our house, it has been the right side of the bed.0

If looking down on the bed, I'm on the left. He's on the right. I'm left handed too (not that that has anything to do with it.) lol...0

I sleep away from the window so when the zombies come my hubby can slow them down while I get away. He prefers to sleep away from the closet so when the boogieman comes I'll get taken out first and he'll be able to get away. I don't know what we'll do if we ever live in a house with the window and closet on the same wall...0

Hubby sleeps to my right side cos he's my right-hand man!

I'm the same way! I want my husband between me and the door. lol.0 -
Haha - I love these answers. All these MFPers willing to sacrifice their spouses to attacks. My husband likes to sleep on the side nearest his dresser, but when I rearranged the room last week, he refused to switch sides of the bed, so I'm thinking I will forever be on the left (if you're standing at the foot of the bed looking at the pillows) side of the bed.0

depends whos bed0

The side nearest the door.0

I sleep on the right side if lying in the bed... My fiance has always said, his place is closest to the door to protect me. I don't know from what..however, he is always on the side that is closest to the door or he can't sleep. I've never been with someone who has this thought process... however... if sleeping closest to the door helps him get a good nights rest, then thats all i care about LOL0

Standing in front, looking down at the bed, I am on the left, wife is on the right. Its always been this way, don't know why!

I can't sleep unless hubs is on my left. :ohwell:0

Laying IN bed, I sleep on the right side. Visitors must sleep on the left. :bigsmile:0

I have a loft bed, to save space in my small apartment. It's almost six feet in the air, so I always sleep on the side against the wall (the right). I don't have a significant other unless you count the cat, and I figure if he rolls over & falls off in the middle of the night he'll land on his feet. :laugh:0

My husband insists on sleeping between me and the door. He's weird in restaurants too, he has to sit where he can see the entrance. It's some sort of protective instinct he has.0 -
Always the dry side0

I was the same way for a long time. Then I got pregnant and I started sleeping whichever side was closest to the bathroom and that's the way it has been for 6 years now. Lucky for me, in our new bedroom, I am both furthest from the door and closest to the bathoom - and have a german shepard dog that sleeps on my side on the floor. So if someone did come in, they'd step on her first.0 -
If you're standing at the foot at the bed, I'm on the left. When we go to a hotel, I sleep closest to the door (so the boogie man gets me first).0

This is the second place I've lived with the same BF...last apartment, I was on the right (looking down on the bed), this one I'm on the left. Both are furthest from the bathroom and furthest from the door! I guess it doesn't really matter, but we definitely both have "a side" haha. Even when he's not there or I take a nap or something I tend to stay on my side of the bed.0

I've always slept (if looking at the bed from the foot of it) on the right side and i sleep on my left side and hubby sleeps on the left side on his right side so we're always back to back, lol. However i am thinking about switching sides bc i'm closest to the door and farthest from the bathroom
and not so sure if i like being right by the door....... though most of the time when i do have to use the bathroom, i just go out the door to the main bathroom not 3 feet away

I sleep on the right hand side because it's where my big closet is but to be honest and to ask my hubby I sleep in the middle.0
-
Looking down from the foot of the bed, I'm on the left and he's on the right. We've slept this way since the beginning, including when we snuggled on his twin bed early on (how in God's name we slept in a tiny bed, I don't know). Now it's so ingrained, I HAVE to sleep on the left or I don't sleep at all!0
