    I decided I wasn't going to stress about my dinner party and just to go and have fun. And I did have a blast. Woke up this morning thinking I might have gained but I'm still at my same weight. Only a half more pound to go this week to make a one pound loss for the week:happy:

    Had 5 asparagus spears and 10 peas (which were in the white rice:angry: )

    I didn't do any crunches/situps unless you want to count last night's laughing so hard you want to cry:bigsmile:

    well, i had that 3 hour walk the other day and haven't been feeling well since, so i had an 'excuse'... i'm better today, so i might as well check out the crunches... :embarassed:

    wow sass, your ticker says 20 lost, you shock me every day :laugh: geez, i'm slacking, i've hardly lost a pound in the last 2 weeks :sad: now that's motivating, i'm so gonna move my butt today :drinker:

    btw, i wouldn't say it's about what your boyfriend said or what you want to weigh, there is something more important to set as a weight goal and that is the weight your body will feel healthy at. i also want to be 120 pounds but i'm afraid even the 130 i set as my goal is too high, since i have big bones and have been overweight for basically all my life

    here is one French calculator i know of, not sure where to find one in English
    http://livredemonpoids.com
    once there, you have to click where it says VOITRE POIDS D'AVENIR at the bottom of the page and you get a popup with 13 questions
    1. Metric system (no options here, you need to convert your weight from pounds to kilograms, find some online converter like this one http://www.manuelsweb.com/kg_lbs.htm
    2. Current weight (always in kilograms!!!)
    3. Desired weight (kilograms!!!)
    4. Maximum weight you ever reached (kilograms!!!)
    5. Minimum weight you ever reached (kilograms!!!)
    6. Longest maintained weight (without putting any effort into maintaining - kilograms!!)
    7. Diets you have been on:
    aucun=none;
    quelques uns=several;
    nombreux=numerous
    8. Height (in centimeters, e.g. 5ft=152cm, 5ft1=155cm, 5ft2=157cm, 5ft3=160cm, 5ft4=163, 5ft5=165, 5ft6=168, 5ft7=170, 5ft8=173cm)
    9. Age
    10. Heredity (is there a tendency for extra weight in your family):
    aucune=none;
    moyenne=medium;
    forte=strong
    11. Bone structure (surround your left wrist with the thumb and forefinger of your right hand). Your fingers:
    se chevauchent=overlap;
    se touchent=touch each other;
    ne se touchent=do not touch each other
    12. Gender (i think you will figure this one without translation :tongue: )
    13. Number of pregnancies: 0 - 7

    Then click the blue arrow at the bottom and here is your future healthy weight in kilograms

    So for me it says 65kg, which is about 143 lbs, which means my goal is some 13 lbs lower than the realistic one. I am fine with it, so let's see how will it feel after these 100 pounds. :blushing:

    I hope someone uses this info and you find it helpful cos it took me ages to translate for you :laugh:

    I did this (I too thank you for the translation) and I must mention that I like my weight alot more in kg!:laugh: It said that my goal weight (150) is right - I was quite amazed because I have weighed less (looked bobbleheadish) and have even had a trainer and two doctors to tell me I need to weigh 125 (I'm 5'9:noway: ) so I feel better that I'm being realistic about my goal of 150

    wow, why would a doctor tell you this!! 125 lbs is way too far for someone as tall as you. I have also weighed a bit less than the 143 lbs it calculated but it was after i lost over 20 pounds at the time, i believe you have also put some effort into looking 'bobbleheadish', so i think this explains why the healthy weight is set higher than the dreams and someone's expectations... the point is, if we really try hard we can probably go down to 125 lbs but it will not be in a completely healthy manner and once we increase our calories to maintainance level, the extra lost pounds will probably creep back on because the body won't feel that good at the weight we forced it to go down to... i have kept my ticker at 130 lbs just to keep myself on my toes but i keep in mind that i may not be able to lose the last few pounds... well, i have so much weight to lose, these last 13 pounds are the last thing i'm worried about right now :laugh:

    btw 20 crunches for me today (yesterday for some of us:tongue:)

    Hey everyone. Can't believe our weekend is already gone. It rained ALL DAY here again today so no running outside...but hubby and I did make it to the gym for some intense cardio, ab work, and push-ups. I feel like I am getting stronger everyday which is awesome. I remember when I could barely do one "real" push up (not the modified one on your knees). Now I"m up to 15 before I start to slow down. :smile:

    I did 50 extra crunches tonight and thought of you Sassie the whole time!

    We also made it to the driving range today which was fun.

    Hope you all have an awesome day tomorrow!

    Happy Monday GT!!

    smendek910 ~ glad to hear your thyroid is ok. i too have family history of high chol. i think the higgest mine was is around 270. even when i was a teenager, and 70 lbs lighter, healthy wt, it was high. i am on Simvistatin and in 4 mos it dropped 100 pts!! it is near 100 now. i was eating most of my exercise calories and losing. we are all diff. then i had a halt in wt loss, and needed to increase my calories to start losing again. the more we exercise and get our bodies in shape, with more muscle mass, the more calories we are going to be burning, all the time..even when idle.... sounds like you are back to losing again, so i am happy for you!! the shoveling will give you a good workout! be careful!!

    velvetwing ~ sounds like your Vit D is doing better. i hear many people have that myalgia. don't know much about it but it sounds frustrating with the pain.

    loser4eal~ pushups are the hardest for me. i have never been strong in my upper body, and i am an apple shape...UGH, so hard for me to lift myself! i am still doing the modified ones on knees, but my lower legs are raised back off the floor. getting a little easer, but still dread them! 15 WOW, that is so great! is there any advice you can give on what to do to get to the regular ones?

    yesterday i did 60 situps and 40 crunches....thanks for the challenge sassie.....i feel stronger each day. i have been doing some ab work since Jan 19, so was glad i didnt have to go thru the pain of sore ab muscles with this challenge....no sign of a 2,4 or 6 pack....still hiding under the keg!

    had about 1/2 c lettuce also. yest. went to inlaws yesterday and i went for a little walk in the timber. whenever i could, i braved the steep hills! thighs were a burnin'!

    ok, have a great week buddies, and 2 more days til weigh in!!

    hey porka ~

    it is ok, just get back on plan. i think it's good to have a day or two of rest. i read somewhere that we aren't suppose to exercsie more than 5 hrs a week...is this true, anyone? i know that you can exercise too much, and it is harmful to your body.

    Good morning, greenies! Well, I got in 100 extra crunches last night all for you, Sassie.

    I got a sweet compliment just now while I was in the breakroom preparing my oatmeal...one of the ladies I work with said "You keep losing weight like that and those britches are going to fall right off of you!" (I still get a kick out of folks around here calling pants 'britches') :smile: Anyway, I do admit I am long overdue for buying some new clothes--these pants would fall down if not for the belt. But I am too cheap. I don't want to spend money on clothes I don't want to fit into for long, but at the same time I know it will help to keep the momentum moving forward to be able to buy smaller clothes. A sign of progress I suppose. Plus I hate how sloppy I feel. For those of you with more to lose, how often do you or will plan to buy new clothes?

    Anyway, I hope you are all doing well and having a great week so far. I plan to run outside on the greenway during lunch today, and then to the gym this evening for strength training. Have a great day!

    kellya,

    While I think the strength training is definitely helping me to be stronger physically, I also think the push-ups were a mental thing for me too. One night our trainer, who was tough but nowhere near as extreme as Jillian on BL, got down on the floor with me and "firmly encouraged". Suddenly I went from barely one to five in one night. Then I thought, wait a minute, I CAN do this. So the next time I added one more and the next time another, and so on. I think with everything else related to fitness and nutrition, it's all about consistency. Keep working at it and eventually you'll see results. :smile:

    mornin all! WHERE IS EVERYONE??? GT WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!!

    well, yesterday when i returned home from my pm bus route, I LOST CONTROL!! i couldn't seem to get the food into my mouth fast enough. it was Lay's Kettle Cooked chips (hubby's), and 3 choc.chip/M&M cookies......i WAS well aware of what i was doing, but i didn't care.....and i don't know why i was in this mood.....i was just craving ALL OF IT, sweets, carbs. :sad: i should have left the house.....i am just glad i stopped when i did, b/c i have done a lot worse in the past....

    so, to try and justify the damage done, when i went for my outdoor, evening walk....i began my walk/jog interval routine...first time in YEARS!! it was about 39 minutes, and i had to go farther to get in 30 +min...so I know i jogged a good mile. it wasn't too bad, and i felt a lot better. the scale showed a gain of +.2 from yesterday.....but am still concerned about tomorrow's official weigh in...

    today, i am on plan so far. i did receive my Polar F6 HRM yesterday.....only did the settings, and have not used it yet. did 60 situps and 30 crunches. THANKS loser4real....i will just keep at it for my pushups! and baggy pants syndrome....hehe, i have 2 pairs that are back in my closet, hoping to never be worn again, they are so bad in the hips/waist they fall down to my thighs! i have looked and tried on some NEW smaller sizes....but i am one that has smaller sizes waiting to be worn from my dresser drawers......thanks to being a yo-yoer! the smallest i have is a 12....not sure what i will end up at, but if i have to buy new, and smaller, it will be after i have been maintaining........that is my ultimate goal....to maintain!

    will be going to town to shop today. not much, but i need a haircut, in a really bad way! that helps one feel better too!

    have a good day GT, and stay focused on your comittment to wt loss....skinny vibes to all for weigh in tomorrow!!
