Unless you are syncing your steps to My Fitness Pal through an activity tracker, just put in the highest activity level.

Are your steps part of your job or are they walks and runs that you log under exercise? It makes a difference. You don't want to double dip.4

I always set mine to sedentary. If you set it to a high fitness level, it says you are burning WAY more calories than you will. Then I log my exercise (dog walks, hikes, treadmill, etc) for a more accurate count. Also, how are you determining that you walk 20-30k steps a day? Most step trackers are also highly inaccurate, so you are probably walking less steps than you think.1
