Ive been on MFP for a bit now, just using it to track what Im eating and how things are going. I figured I would try the message boards because I feel like I could use a support system. I have very little support in everyday life. Plus I was reading around and saw people doing weekly goals for groups and things and I thought that would be perfect for me. So anyone wanting to be friends so we can help each other towards our goals I would greatly appreciate it.

My wife and I have been doing this for only a week now, but we're trying to make a little game of it. We're both a little competetive, and so we're just finding out how much we used to eat just a little shocking. (3500 calories in a day without thinking about it is appalling.)
We set some ground rules for ourselves to help us to not slide back into old habits, and this certainly seems like one of the most doable things we've tried that we can maintain in the long term.
Just make sure that every time you pick up something to eat or drink, you look at its calories. I was amazed to find that I could either eat 1 single cookie, or trade that for 5 oz. of grilled chicken and some vegetables. Soda? Holy cow-- forget it!
It's fun to find out just how much you can fit into one day's worth of calories and still feel satisfied with your choice. Plus, you don't feel restricted like in most diets.

I do pretty good with the calories, thanks almost entirely to the tracker. My issue is my binge eating that I really need to control as well as my inconsistency with exercise. Having just a few friends on here and seeing they worked out today motivated me to actually go to the gym, so the support is already working! Now to just keep it up, keep my goals in mind, and hopefully help motivate others on here.0
