upping cals for the last few lbs

I've been feeling pretty good about where my body has been lately. Still want to lose a bit of tummy fat, but am going to be doing a lot more strength training and will hopefully see more definition. I've been set at 1 lb/wk for awhile now after realizing 2 was unrealistic and not working. I've managed to lose about 10 to 11 pounds (it's debatable where I actually am right now haha) in about 10 weeks. I'm very happy with the results. The weight doesn't come off evenly. It is stuck for a bit and then all of a sudden it seemingly drops about 3 lbs, or that's what's been happening. I think it's going to take more time to lose the last few pounds, and I think I'm ready to stop being so restrictive all the time to 1,200 (I swear, I feel like a slave to that number) and move to a little lower weight loss amount and eventually towards maintenance. At this point, I think I just have a lot of toning to do. I want to up my calories, but I've been at a net of 1,200 (or sometimes less because I don't always eat all my exercise cals or leave some in case the burn wasn't right or I forgot something) for the 10 weeks I've been doing this. I'm afraid if I increase I'll gain. I was just thinking that 1,200 was probably too low all along for me (I'm 20, female, 5'4 1/2") and I'm concerned about my loss being sustainable, even though I tried to do it the right way. How slowly do you think I should up what I eat?

I used to always try to stay at 1200 cals regardless of exercise, and my net would be too low. EAT YOUR EXERCISE CALS! It's actually helped me! I don't eat all of them, but atleast try to net 1000-1300 each day, and eat about 1500 a day.0

Not that slowly, actually.
I upped my calorie intake by 1000 calories a day, and I only gained for about 2 days, then dropped right back down. Then again, I am a guy... so...0 -
Just switch your settings to a half pound a week and see how that goes. You'll get 250 more calories a day.0

I moved to 1/2 lb per week when I was 5 lbs from goal. Now I am set to maintenance and have lost another 2 lbs. I try to eat all my exercise calories and have lost 33 lbs. I am 5'11" so I am allotted 1900 cals per day. Hope this helps. Good Luck!0
