We had a huge tree split and fall over the creek on our property from a 2 day storm. My hubby has been cutting and I've been carrying and dragging limbs to a burn pile. I worked at this for 1 1/2 hours today and can't find what it falls under to get a calculation. Can anyone please help? Please & Thank You :-)

Unless you were wearing an HRM the whole time ---- you just need to guess -- or find some exercise thats similar, like yardwork.

I would try to find yard work if they have it. They have Mowing in there somewhere.. If can't find that, go under cleaning, and there is one for moving boxes, or something like that.. I would pick one of those!

Depending on how heavy the limbs were you could use this one: Walking, carrying infant or 15-lb load. Or you could use Gardening, general. The numbers are pretty close for both (for me).
  • there's a calorie burn calculator online:http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc

You could try the hiking up hills carrying a load--they have 2 different weights--this could work, especially if it was not a straight/flat shot to the burn pile. Good Luck

  • Thanks for the input everyone. It is appreciated :-)

@ Schlumy....I did look there but didn't see it. I did however, see the sex one.lol

I think I'll use the hiking up hills carrying a load. That works well for me.
  • my bad...sorry about that. it's a good site with lots of other stuff on it just in case.
yeah, i would just guess at how much weight you were lifting and calculate the carry and uphills too like you're doing
