Hi, I’m new to this App but since March 20th I’ve lost 58lbs. Just to say all I did was walk 20,000 steps 7 days a week and eat no more than 1,200 calories a day. I found I was losing between 3-4lb a week consistently. It was slow and boring but if consistent not that difficult really. It’s made me obsessed with the scales though which is not so good 😊

holy crow that's fantastic! I'm down nearly 16 1/2 in a month, just by making sure I burn off a decent amount of calories and trying to not go over 2000 total for the day. I'm over 400lb (well, almost out of that range now, got a half pound to go). I'm pretty obsessed with the scale myself so I'm trying to go at least every other day with weighing in rather than every single morning. The first ten pounds was gone in a week which I'm assuming was all water, then the other 6.2 I knocked off with calorie counting, dancing and intermittent fasting. I also have a very bad back so my exercise is limited to what I can do while sitting... for now anyway. Keep up the good work, I'm sure it feels great to have that amount of weight gone!5

To maintain proper nutrition the minimum number of calories for a sedentary male is 1500. At 20k steps you are highly active. Unless your starting weight was in excess of about 350 pounds your scale obsession could be because you need a lot of motivation to keep you going down a highly aggressive and potentially unhealthy path.

I’m 6ft 1 and now 87kg. I wanted to lose weight to this level fast but now increase my daily cals and reduce steps. Once I work out the max healthy calories I can consume to maintain my weight I’ll stick to it.1

It is great that you have done so well but that is a really low calorie intake for a man your size. Please make sure you have researched the correct calorie level to give you at least minimum nutrition or you may find yourself burning out especially if you start to do more excercise you will need to fuel yourself properly.
Anyone reading this please please don't drop your calories too low. 1200 is minimum for a woman and 1500 for a man.
Yes there are outliers but as a general rule the above applies, check you are doing what is right for you.8
