Has anyone found love/significant other on MyFitnessPal? and if you are on here on side seeking connections and potential relationships should you be upfront with your timeline?

Boy, I really don't know about any of that. All I know is that everyone is single on MyFitnessPal and we love you just the way you are. Every day and in every way. We do. I care.6

I think it's best to be upfront about it. There are many people who specifically want to avoid that type of setting on here, so it's more fair that they can do that earlier than later, everyone is on the same page and feelings don't get hurt.
I don't know too many people who truly used this as a dating site (I know, the jokes, the jokes). I have heard of a few members who unintentionally found love on here.
Honestly though, if you are truly looking for a dating site experience I advise you go to an actual dating site. Everyone there is looking for someone, most people here aren't, and your attempts may not be well received. This site is also missing alot of basic sorting (gender, age, location) that would hugely narrow down your pool for you.7 -
I Found "love" on MFP six years ago and here is the "wonderful" story below. Tell me what y'all think...
For 6 years of my life i was in a long distance relationship that seemed incredibly loving and real or so seemed. At the core of it there were so many lies and toxicity.She(51 when we but 56 now) was much older and took advantage of my(23 When we met but 28 now) naivety and trusting nature. I was so blinded by love that i did not even notice all the control and manipulation. She did not feel beautiful so she felt the need to keep me looking unattractive and hate myself because she was unhappy with her life. She lied about who she was, what she did in her past, made up stories about people in her life just so i would trust her and like her. I still pains me that throughout our relationship she did not value or trust me enough to share the truth with. She maintained her lies to the very end. Once i confronted her about these lies, she got upset and blocked me permanently. We had built so much supposed love and trust in each other but i guess it was all just a farce and i was being manipulated to meet her emotional needs while she satisfied her other other needs with other men. It is painful to discover that you gave someone your whole heart and yet they only gave you a piece in order to protect themselves. I was truly foolish and should have paid attention to all the red flags i encountered during the relationship. I will not sit her completely paint her black however. We share great moments together. We most surely did. In fact we became the best of friends and deep down, friends is truly all that we should have stayed. I know i dodged a bullet and i wish her well and hope she finds happiness somehow while being a compulsive liar. I truly do hope she changes because she is a very kind and loving person. We were just not meant for each other and should have realized that sooner. I, however, realize that i have a lot of life ahead of me and in time the pain will hurt a lot less. I hope she is able to make the changes she needs to make in a life so she can one day truly find the happiness she is looking for.
Anyways I've been on Keto for 4 months now and i am feeling great and ready to move on with my life and do the things that i need to do for myself! If you have a similar story you want to share that motivated you, this is the place to do it. Looking forward to hearing from all of you! Take care and stay motivated to keep reaching those goals! My Instagram is Jaymow05 and I will be sharing my fitness journey there if anyone is interested in following me along the way!
To add: MFP is NOT! The place to find love. People can easily lie about who they are and pretend to be anything they want. Alot of people have issues honestly and are just looking for gullible people to manipulate. Many many sheep in wolves clothing... Trust me.. I am going through so much pain right now because of love i found on MFP was not the right kind of i was looking for or deserved. Becareful who you connect with on here!10 -

You should always be honest about who you are in every single way! Oh my god that is so critical! Could have saved me a lot of pain and heart break right now.4 -
I found love in the past. Mondays to Fridays from 8 to 5 but we took breaks on weekends.10

I did. Neither of us intended for it but we really clicked. After a few months and a visit he asked me to move. I said yes. So after a total of 11 months and 3 visits I moved across country. It's been a few years and we've had our ups and downs but no regrets. We're talking marriage and such.
But MFP is not the place to find someone. We were both just bored people. He only messaged me that day because he was bored and I only even read it because I was in a tattoo shop bored waiting for my appointment. Had no plans on talking to him at all. But my artist kept coming out saying 10 more minutes. So I thought why not see what he has to say.
Seriously don't look at MFP as a way to find love. Friends? Yeah why not. But theres fake people all over and you don't want to get attached to one. Lol I know a couple fake ones messaged me, I wonder if they realized how incredibly fake they came off as.0 -
Friends are possible, I suppose. I'd say love is probably rare as this isn't what brings folks here. If that's what you're looking for though, put it in your profile.0

Isn't there an old song that goes 'looking for love in all the wrong places'? Even dating sites can be downright scary. But considering meeting people through work and school can be difficult as well, you gotta take your chances someplace. Just be careful no matter who/where you meet. Both my dds met someone through online dating services; 1 relationship lasted a few years, the other is still going strong. I don't care where you meet somebody, take your time and get to truly know that person before you commit your heart. People pretend to be somebody else, everywhere you go.
This place, from what I've seen, can be lots of fun, flirty, educational, kind, opinionated, etc., but I have to agree with someone else who said if you're looking for a connection, try a dating site. Wishing you the very best if that's what you're hoping for.
Actually, I remember a woman returning here to tell her story of how she and her partner met through MFP, and ended up getting married, were very happy together. It was a beautiful story.0 -
never gonna hit a home run unless you take a swing man.

It is funny when people talk about having an "exclusive" MFP "relationship".0

I don't call it that. I call it a side piece.7 -

See, now THAT, I can respect.2 -
I agree with the side piece approach. Whether the interaction is used to benefit a current relationship, distract from a current (possibly bad but more likely stale) relationship or as a placeholder while trying to find someone that you can actually have something real with - have some good boundaries. Whatever works for you, but keep in mind that your intention may not be the same as the other person's. Protect yourself and them.
I find the concept of finding anything of depth, aside from platonic, here or anywhere else online boggling. It may be why I'm addicted to all of the 90 day fiance iterations. Totally blows my mind that people could fall in love without having ever met someone, much less spent a significant amount of time with them. It would take much more faith than I could possibly have.2 -
It is possible. I have seen a few people talk about happening to meet their spouse on here. I never met anyone off of here. Came close but he ghosted me. Lol. I’m glad he did though because then I might not have met my current partner.3

As far as your thoughts about people deleting friends, I don't have extra time to spend on MFP. I wish I did because I love this place. So maybe people realize it takes time to have friends on their list. I found out I wasn't very good at that so ended up deleting the ones I had. Sorry to all that I did that to!!
Oops, I guess it was in one of your other posts, sorry about that.0 -

I dated a woman from here before. Just didn't work out.2
