I have been on the site for 10 days or so and I am looking to meet some exercise friends (male of female) in the Austin, Tx area. I am just transitioning from a lumbering sloth, so currently I cant run a marathon, climb a mountain, etc. I would like to start out slowly and work my way back to a more vigorous routine afte dropping 25 lbs or so. I enjoy walking, swimming, bicycling, trips to the gym, etc. I am a 8 to 6 M-F person, so this needs to be in the evenings and weekends. I have a road bike and a mountain bike. Member at 24 hour fitness. I live in RR, but will drive DT if required.

Also looking for motivational friends, so send me a friend request!

Greetings from a former sloth. Also a member at 24 HR Fitness. I came across a boot camp in the Austin area that I love. They have morning and evening sessions. After going through three personal trainers at Golds Gym and 1 personal trainer at 24 HR Fitness I have finally found something that really works. Working out with others and keeping motivated seems to be the key and does not require taking out a second mortgage...those personal trainers are soooo expensive.

    Check it out.

Luis Hernandez, the personal trainer at 24HR Fitness at Parmer is awesome!!! Expensive but worth it.
  • You should look into the Austin ridge riders as well as biking and other exercise groups at http://www.meetup.com . There are lots of weekly ride calls for both in Austin. They range from beginner to advanced with a very good biking community here in Austin.
