I am interested in purchasing a polar ft7 heart rate monitor for women since mine is junk....
Who has one, is it really the best out there?
where i can I purchase one for a good price w.o using ebay?
are there any other heart rate monitors that would be better or more accurate than this one?
I searched the topics but did not see these answers so i started a new post.

Polar is going to be your best bet as far as reliability and popularity. I have a Polar FT4 and love it. It's a small step down from the FT7. Got it off Amazon.com for about $60. It's just perfect for me and I feel like I have every feature I need. Good luck!0

I love my FT7! I got it on Amazon.com for around $80 (no tax, no shipping). That was the best price I saw at the time. I use it religiously and have found it to be incredibly motivating - not just for a more accurate calorie count, but also to keep me working out at a proper pace. Since I've started using it, I know when I'm hitting cardio as hard as I should be and when I can put more effort into it.
I also considered the FT60, but couldn't justify the $140-150 price tag.0 -
I have a Polar F6. I love it. I received mine as a Mother's day gift over a year ago. I believe that my husband bought it from Amazon.com. Good Luck on your search hope you find one that works for you.0

I bought one on overstock.com and it was about $10 cheaper than amazon.com. I love it. It helps me know when to step up my workouts and then I record how many calories I burn. Good investment!0

I ordered an FT7 the other day from amazon, should arrive tomorrow. Just noticed however it is an FT7M which I guess means it's the male version, as far as I can tell the only difference between FT7F and FT7M is the F has a gold stripe and the M a silver one. Anyone know if there is any more fundamental difference that might mess me up, such as a different style chest strap?0

            Amazon for sure!
I have a Polar FT7 and I love it. Best Investment I ever could have made. Not only is it accurate, but it's nice to know where my heart rate is at and if I need to slow down or bump it up.0 -
If you do use Ebay, make sure it is from "an Authorized Dealer" . I have heard there are a lot of knock- offs on ebay. Also Heartratemoniters.com will have good buys from time to time. And usually there are coupons. Just google the coupons before you buy. I found a 20% off when I purchased an polar accessory.0
