    Hi all,

    I'm not actually going to log my inches until the end of the challenge as I don't think they'll be any difference for me week to week. it'll also make me do some exercise!!!!

    i agree clair. i was going to measure every other week or maybe in the middle and than again at the end.
    great job on the one pound. hows your wedding plans going?

    i ate most of the weekend so really glad to see the loss. i have to get training for the "race for a cure" 5K. shanell ran it last year and wants me to run it with her this year. since i don't run fast, she wants me to run with granddaughter (10). i am ok with that, i guess. well, need to get my exercise in. going to doctor to find out what's this thing on my toe. need to see if rain is coming in, if not i need to get running outside.

    Cathy - Have you ever run a 5K before? Shaelyn (DD) and I are training for our first in October (she'll be 11). She's on week 4 of c25k using treadmill. Gonna start running outside when the rain finally stops. She actually got me to the gym yesterday Nice to have a "partner". I think it's great you are doing it. Great on the loss too, even with those yummy baked dougnuts.

    Clare - great job on the loss!

    AFM:
    BFF and I did Body Pump yesterday morning (Labor Day special classes) with the weight bars. Can not even lift my arms over my head today. Hoping that will tone me up and help some of these inches come off. I'm pretty much resolved at my weight, I'd just like the fat to tighten up a little bit into muscle. So the measurement challenge is pretty cool for me on this.

    Tonight cycle class and maybe body pump to get into a routine of doing it twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday. We'll see.

    what a morning already....

    left to go run outside. muggy so turned around to get inhaler. while using that, the skies opened up. thought ok, i will just head to the gym (2 miles up the road). while on my way, the wind and rain just started blowing, windshield wipers had to go on fast, and still could barly see. so thought ok, i am just going home and do jillian 6 week abs on demand. get home and the sky clears up. thinking what ever. now jillian isn't on demand anymore, only shred. so now i am thinking s94t. so, i figure i am just going to go to zumba tonight. too many signs i should not exercise this morning. sooooo, now i am going to eat breakfast, shower and get ready for my doctors appt.

    lula....i have not done a 5K before. i need to just build to do the 3.1 miles. walking or running. i have 2 miles, but, not 3.1. that's what i want to work on.

    Whew!! I'm so glad to see a loss on a weekend that included pizza! :bigsmile:

    I finally took my measurements this morning. I was so happy to see that they were down from what they were a month ago when I logged them on here. It's not much, but even a little loss is still a loss! The main thing that is really helping is that we got a new dog a little over a week ago. She's 1.5 years old and FULL of energy. We've been taking her on three 30 min walks a day. Of those, I'm usually walking 2 of those! She's also not as "leash trained" as the former owner led us to believe, so we're getting an upper body workout in too! :laugh:

    well, the foot doctor was surprised at the growth on my foot.
    it's a mucord cyst. which 1) can be left alone and watched when blister pops, wrap it up to prevent infection, 2) painful cordisone shots, 3) have the joint removed. so for now we are doing number 1 and if it gets worst we will move to number 2 and 3 if absolute necessary.

    it is just storming here off and on. good day to curl up in my room and read.

  • Hi ladies. I was away this weekend for the holiday, so I wasn't home to weigh this morning. I'll post tomorrow, but I'm not too confident it will be pretty. I thought I was being good this weekend, but the scale at work was up compared to before.

    Saddest thing for me was that I finally found a dress that I loved for SIL-to-be's wedding. Had to have it ordered to the store to get my size. Brought it home yesterday and it looked good. Went back upstairs to take it off and the zipper split right up the center, basically rendering the dress unwearable. Now I'm feeling incredibly fat and hideous since I basically split a dress open due to my size. Has me really depressed today. Maybe tomorrow will be better.....

  • So I'm the first to break the losing streak. :( At least it was only 0.1. I guess I'll take that after the past week (and the holiday). I broke down and bought the Turbo Fire system a week or so ago. I used to do TurboKick classes at the gym in Graduate school, and really liked it. This seems really similar, but I can do it on my own time. I'm following the schedule they set-up for you, but I find it hard to do it everyday. I'm trying. Last night was about 45 minutes of high impact cardio, then a 15 min stretch. I feel good today. Hopefully I can keep up with it.

    Cathy and Lorna, I was almost there too. I didn't eat a great dinner, but I kept myself from scarfing down the sugary foods. We can all do better today!

    Thank goodness for the loss. Hormones and system are all out of whack and my five week cycle is going into week six. Too much stress. Glad to see the loss though as I was absolutely dreading it.

    Cathy - you are not alone. I guarantee we are all ready your updates and thankful that you are still around to keep us together. Sometimes for me, bad news isn't worth reporting. Just a stressful week. But I'm glad I have you. {hug}

    amy_36 - no worries. I hope everything is okay and we are here if you ever need to vent. Sometimes we all need a "break" in order to deal with whatever life is throwing our way.

    jdklove18 - great job on the exercise. keeping motivated is my hardest thing. But being able to set your own schedule hopefully will help you.

    Hi All,
    I have been terrible... terrible...terrible... and the last 3... 4 (?) days it has been raining... lots and lots of rain... so even though I could get out and exercise with the dogs I haven't... I am a bad mom. I made gym plans with my cousin and co-worker so starting next week I should be exercising a minimum of 4 days per week @ the gym on top of walking the dogs... I think it will help me get my motivation back... I hope.

    Sorry - I have been slacking sixers... I need a kick in the butt... I am also leaving for a conference in Poland next week (Friday...) YIKES! Lots to do...

    I will get on the scale Tuesday no matter what... I will.

    Hey guys! I know I haven't been on in a while. I am in residency and crazy busy BUT I have still been working out (add me as a friend and you'll see my updates). I am back and trying to get active with the Sixers again! :-)

    Okay, this is my rant. Such a bad week. Hubby and I have been fighting down and dirty ALL week. I kept blaming it on PMS but then TOM never came yet and pre-symptoms are passing (we are both "sterilized" so no fear of pregnancy - just STRESSED). Kids started school and are doing great, but I think, as happy as I am to get back to a schedule, I am going through some serious withdraw. So I have been hitting the gym hard and trying some different class (body pump with weight bar, and cycling with boot camp mixed in with it). Which means I am physically exhausted as well as mentally and emotionally...so enters my one source of comfort ...FOOD...and lots of it. Lots, and lots, and lots of it. I have eaten a whole entire large jar of PB in about 3 days. Did you know that if you just simply poor chocolate syrup inside the jar, and eat with a spoon, it's your very own Reese's cup (how sneaky is that to get around eating "candy".

    Last night I chaperoned my daughter's first sixth grade social. They were playing some bingo game where they had to find a student with red hair, but there weren't any in her class who had come. Coincidentally, I had red temporary hair spray in the car so suggested to my golden haired daughter to just put a strip in her hair. Of course, that was just a wrong suggestion...until her friends wanted it. Then it was cool. So I took them in the bathroom and put some in their hair...and then about 50 other girls came in. Finally I just thew the bottle away because I was tired...Only to be told by my daughter that I had screws up because it was only supposed to be for her "friends", and now they weren't unique. Screw up #2 for mom. So she asked me to get the pink one, which I did, took her selected 7 friends and gave them pink strips, then threw the bottle away. Only to be told by her that she felt bad for all the numerous girls who kept going into the bathroom looking for the woman who has the hairspray (I gave them her stepmother's name just in case there was trouble :tongue:). I felt like I couldn't win. So off she went to her "other house". Only to spend the rest of the evening arguing with DH, which meant alot of senseless eating. Can't blame it on PMS or TOM anymore since it seems to have passed me by. So I am blaming it on the 7 endless days of rain with no end in site. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent.

    lula....vent all you want. kids will do that to you. it's good she thought of other peoples feelings. she was probably stress as well, cause this was the first social and she wanted to make a good impression, yet make new friends and be the cool girl. she will probably just move on and a forget about it. it's us parents who keep bringing things back up. we need acceptance from our kids. it shows us we did good jobs in raising them. when they don't give us we think we failed. today is a new day. just laugh with her when she brings up the funny parts of the evening.

    off to an avon convention today, most of the day.

    lula, sorry you had to go through that. I'm sure she was just trying to be popular and no matter how "cool" you are in real life, she just couldn't see it. That's an awkward stage for kids. But either way, sorry you had to endure it.

    Hey chipper, I've missed you!

    I hope everyone is doing well. I'm just trying to hold myself accountable and check in. I did pretty good with my eating and I'm monitoring/logging my foods. so I'm proud of that. I will either ride my spin bike or do a video tonight.

    But the truth is, I just want to go to sleep.

    Best friend and DH went for a 16 mile bike ride yesterday into the city and back. Granted we stopped at my favorite burger joint and I loaded up on yummy goodness, and then we biked home. But I am so tired. Poor hubby had to go to work last night and just got in about an hour ago with no rest in between.

    I get kids for two weekend nights in a row, which I am pretty excited about. Of course, Shaelyn has homework over the weekend. Poor kids, between my ex and this household, they are non-stop going. I made us go to bed around 8 last night and we were asleep by 8:30. I know this "active" lifestyle is wearing on them. So sleeping in is what they get to do today (I mean, until 8:30 am).

    Don't know if I'll get exercising in. My next 14 day challenge is going to be making sure I log everything, good or bad and hold myself accountable and also note the mood I had while eating it. Maybe then I can figure out how to gain more control. We'll see.

    gonabfit - I don't know how you keep the schedule you do. I do Med Transcripts for a bunch of residents who seem like they are doing more than the staff physicians. Take care of your wonderful body and listen to it. You impress me.

    Cathy - how did the Avon convention go?

    Alrighty, back to work for me. Long day ahead, but looking forward to some family time.

    Just checking in! :-) Going on a day trip today with a friend, leaving in about an hour. In the meanwhile, I am meditating/praying and taking some time to enjoy my morning.

    Goals for today are to be active, be happy, and thank God for another day. And of course, do 30 mins of exercise.

    My turn to vent. But I'm going to keep it brief. Basically, I just got rejected. and it hurts... but I'll be strong, feel the pain, and get over it. :) At least he was finally honest enough to say what I had been thinking, he just wants to be friends... (he says "I just want to be friends... right now, you know until I figure out everything... all the things in my head. " OH and you know, he would prefer if I didn't date anyone else.... but he knows he can't control that.)

    :explode: Um, get out of here. I may not be what you want. I may not be what you're looking for or light your fire... but I am not a toy. If you want to be only friends now, that's fine, but you better recognize, we will only be friends later too. I'm not gonna wait around until you decide to "settle" on me. I'm a good person and I deserve someone who wants me with no reservations.

    So that's my rant. And I'm done. Off to shed a few tears and move on. Have a good night. :)
