There is no scientific evidence that any particular amount of water is healthy, although the recommendation of eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day is a common one. What one should do to make sure one is sufficiently hydrated is to look at the color of their urine. It should be pale yellow or straw colored. If it is darker, you are insufficiently hydrated. Don't you think that perhaps different people doing different things with different diets in different conditions will need different amounts?
