Last night I made some whole wheat fettucine for dinner. The serving size said "2 oz. dry". Does anyone have an idea of what that comes out to be volume-wise once it's cooked? I don't have a good idea of what that would be and since I never make just 2 oz. (I have a family to cook for!), it's hard to know just how much I should be eating.

Thanks for your help!

Wiki says: 2 oz. uncooked spaghetti will be the nutritional equivalent of 1 cup of cooked spaghetti
That would also apply to most other pastas...best to measure it after cooking to be sure on different varieties

yes that IS good to know! I had taken to actually cooking mine seperately after measureing it dry but really... who wants to do extra dishes?
  • Thanks so much, FC!! I really didn't want to have to resort to cooking mine separately! My family (and sadly, me) loves pasta so I'm trying to get them used to the whole wheat stuff. Personally, I like it but my 11-yr old wasn't that impressed. He'll get used to it!

Thanks again! I can always count on the MFP bunch to have the answers I'm looking for!
