cravings!

I get cravings for unhealthy food all of the friggin time, and certain times of the month they get stronger; but still, I get them all the time! I wish they'd have gone away after almost 4 months and 43lbs down, but nope, they're as strong as ever.
Today I craved:
Pizza (deep dish, hawaiian)
Pumpkin Pie w/ whipped cream
Chocoloate Chip cookies (I get this one ALL the time)
Honey Walnut Shrimp
BBQ Ribs
That was just today!
What did you crave today? Don't say something like celery or a nice chicken salad or I'll hate you.

I hear you! I'm not new to trying to lose weight and it seems like the cravings are my downfall each and every time. There's something about cheesy garlic bread that won't get out of my mind... Sometimes it's awful fast food, that I am not even a fan of, sometimes it's a family recipe that I know all of the wonderful awful ingrediants for. Typically it's carbs. Any, every, bread (all styles and textures), pasta (every shape you can imagine), couscous (because I like to pretend that's better... not when you eat a whole box!), potatos, and rice... Doesn't matter if it's whole grain or white - I love those carbs.0

Soup.
Oh, that's right, soup. I'm always craving your soup.0 -
Today was a rough day for me...what always helps me when I have a sweet craving is one single piece of dark chocolate. I keep 2 in my purse all of the time. Add me as a friend if you'd like!0

Today I craved:
Pizza (deep dish, hawaiian) - TRY Weight watchers pizza, or make your own
Pumpkin Pie w/ whipped cream - TRY pumplin filling..not pie filling but canned pumkin with cool whip
Chocoloate Chip cookies (I get this one ALL the time) TRY -LUNA bars-all kinds of sweet
Don't know about the meat options you have as I am a vegetarian..
Good Luck0 -
Ice cream so I bought some lol. Everything in moderation though for me....my old self would have ate several servings but I just have 1 serving! I've come a long way:)0

I've been craving sweet stuff a LOT lately - candy and chocolate sound soooooo good!!
I try to keep suger-free gum on hand to help curb those cravings and it works pretty well. I simply won't let myself buy junk food, so I CAN'T eat it no matter how badly I want it. I made some cupcakes for a friend and had some buttercream icing left over - usually I would store it in the fridge but I had to throw it out this time so I wouldn't be tempted to sneak a spoonful. (Which I would absolutely do RIGHT NOW if I had not tossed it!)
We got some delicious watermelon from the farmer's market this weekend. That has been great for my sweet cravings, as well. It's no chocolate, but it works!0 -

Soup is good. Lots of different variations.0 -
Oh, I don't satisfy my cravings, especially when they're so unhealthy. They usually pass in no time and I've learned to have self-control, so even when those foods are available to me, I don't indulge.
And yes, I know that I can have healthier versions of those foods but if I can't have the real thing, I don't want anything at all.0 -

One of the biggest failures in weight loss is the "cave in" to cravings and the mental jumping jacks you do to avoid them. Once you give in, people feel failure and what happens? The weight comes back.
For the last few years, I've had clients just incorporate their crave foods in to their lifestyle an still lose weight. And once they learn how to moderate, guess what? No weight gain. And no cravings.0 -
I craved a chicken quesdilla! Oh and for you chocolate cravings I recommend "Fiber One" brownies/bars and "Skinny COw" candy bars/clusters all under 120 calories and soooo good! Hits the spot when needed!0

You can have the real thing if you have the discipline to portion it and count it as part of your daily calorie intake. This way it won't end up being a craving. Ir you can discipline at "not having it", you can discipline yourself to moderate.

So true. But at this point I just don't see those foods as worth the calories 'cus I can't eat enough of it. For example, I could have a tiny tiny slice of pumpkin pie for 200 calories, or a Fiber One Brownie and a Chocolate Chunk Granola bar for 180 calories for BOTH. More food in the Brownie + Granola Bar, still sweet, and still something I love (plus, it's healthier?)
But make no mistake, this thanksgiving I'm having a HUGE slice of pumpkin pie0 -
A hot gooey brownie.
Extreme Hot Tamale Candy0 -
Chocolate Chip Cookies are my downfall!! oh yea, and DUDE Vodka! YUM! I can do so well during the week, but come the weekends, I lack any control at all. So I am adding exersize in. Maybe that will make the difference. I never tell my weight, I am so impressed that you all posted your weights!! TOTAL ADMIRATION. Don't think I am ready to do that yet. I can do the following:
# of lbs wanting to lose 43
need to lose 15lbs to fit comfortably back in my favorite shorts.
need to lose 30 to get back in a more comfortable size.
need to lose 43 to look and feel great again....
Then I will re-evaluate and see if I need to lose more :->>
Lost 13lbs, gained it all back, lost 4lbs, not gaining it back this time.

when this happens...i always try and make my own healthy versions of the things im craving. sometimes its not always doable but look up some recipes online...you can usually find healthier versions of just about everything0

just ate some Ben and Jerry's topped with cupcakes ;P0

Something gooey/creamy/cheesy!! I did what Lindsay6694 said and made brown rice pasta with shrimp and veggies and only 2 tbsp of sauce! I NEVER would have done that before this site - it would have been velveeta shells and cheese for me!0
