Is there a way to keep a particular person from showing up in the search results box on your Facebook page without actually having to go so far as to add them to your blocked users list?? If someone could let me know if this is possible & explain how to do it, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

You have to block them I think.

Yeah just blocking them. Which is really easy. I blocked a lot of my exes =)

Thanks for your input everyone. This is probably going to sound dumb but...

I don't want my ex to keep constantly showing up in my search results box because I know it will really hurt me if/more like when, I see that he's changed his main pic to one of him & his new GF. He keeps popping up right at the very top of my search results list even when I only type in the first letter or two of either his first OR his last name! Very frustrating! However, don't want to go so far as blocking him as I have every intention of getting to my goal weight & when he inevitably searches for me sometime, I want him to see what he's missing!! lol So, even though I don't want to be able to see HIM in my search results box, I want him to be able to see MY pics (even though the rest of my profile is set to private).

So, can someone please tell me if this is possible & if so how to do this? Gibster-I tried what you said & where it says privacy settings customize & you can enter a specific name, if I do that then it will be just like blocking him, right whereas I would prefer not to have him blocked but just not show up in my search results list anymore.

    gigi,
I actually did look in the help section on facebook regarding this issue & couldn't find the answer I was looking for. So, then I posted here about it.

P.S.) I realize this is a weight loss site. Last I knew though, this particular forum "chit chat, fun, and games" was meant for talking about just about anything, even things that have absolutely nothing to do with weight loss such as makeup, fave tv shows, facebook, etc..

If anyone else knows a way to do this & could share that info with me, I would really appreciate it!! Thanks! :)

Well, as I said earlier, I think the only way to do it is to block him.

But if you are hoping to get a response from him when you lose weight, I think you would be better off blocking him and going on with your life instead of trying to elicit some jealousy from someone you broke up with. That just sounds off to me.

    Block him. Move on.

You can always unblock him down the road. He's not going to know that you blocked him ... in all honesty the healthiest thing to do is block him ... removes the temptation which will lead to the emotional roller coaster.
