POSTPARTUM, BREASTFEEDING AND BODY FAT

Hi! I'm 5'4", 112 pounds with a 25" waist. I'm 10 weeks postpartum and these were my measurements before baby, too. I used to have around 14% body fat and now I have around 17-18%. I'm exclusively breastfeeding. Is my body holding onto this extra fat for milk production? Should it slowly go away if I've resumed my usual eating and fitness routines?

Congrats on your baby and maintaining your measurements and weight!
How are you estimating BF % ?

17-18% is pretty lean if your bodyfat estimation is accurate. It sounds like you should focus on building muscle vs anything else. I would hang out at maintenance to slowly build muscle. Also breastfeeding is tricky many women can lose their supply of they go too low in bodyfat. Just be mindful of that.

Thanks everyone! For those who asked, I have a scale that calculates and one of those handheld things.
