Injured knee – doctor ordered no exercising for at least 10 days

Hello. I injured my knee, and my physiasist ordered me to stop exercising (not even swimming) for at least 10 days and 20 sessions of physiotherapy. I’m terrified that if I stop moving, my weight will go up again. Is there a way to burn calories without rigorous exercising?

You are burning calories all day long - your calorie needs will just reduce somewhat for the time period you are injured.
You just have to eat a bit less than if you were able to move and exercise normally to maintain weight instead of gain weight.1 -
On top of what sjiomial said, you could look up seated exercises (upper body only!) to still keep active without using your legs.2

I too, would look into exercises where you just use upper body. Even swimming you can just do arms. I bet you can find lots of ideas. Good luck. And be creative.0

Caroline Jordan has several seated cardio videos on YouTube. Here's one:

You burn calories 24/7...in most cases, the calories you burn through exercise are minuscule relative to the calories you burn merely being alive and going about your day to day.
Injuries happen...they are a part of the game, which is why it is important to know your calorie and nutritional needs with and without exercise. I've been sidelined since May with injury until this week...I haven't gained anything. It was far more important to let my body heal than to force exercise...forcing exercise when you're injured is more likely than not to prolong the situation and/or make it worse. Let your body heal.0 -
10 days of no exercise isn't going to make you pack on the pounds. Eat a little less for a week and a half.3

Terrified, I'd be concerned about causing more knee damage that will require surgery. Start looking waaay down the road. You'll be needing almost all of your body parts to make it across the finish line.2

Good time to get to know your sedentary TDEE! You might feel strange not eating the typical compensatory calories, but you will get used to it and you should not be particularly hungry after a couple of days.2

Do what the doctor ordered - as mentioned, more injury would be bad.
I say weight is 90+% diet and a bit due to activity.0 -
As mentioned above check out the seated workouts. Any little movement helps. Can you go for easy walks to get moving?
Listen to your doctor's and physio people. I'm awesome at not doing that any ending up with injuries that linger because I'm stubborn0 -
