English (well, Australian English!) - fluently.
Auslan (Australian sign language) - I can get by, but not an expert
Spanish - just a bit, I need to practice much more so I can speak to my in-laws.
And hello/thank you and a few other useful phrases in Italian, German, Arabic, Mandarin.
And I can say "beware of the dog" and several other less-than-useful phrases in Shona (Zimbabwe).0 -

Lallans - mother tongue
English - mother tongue
Nederlands (Dutch) - bilingual
Deutsch (German) - business German better than social chit-chat
Svenska (Swedish) - wish I spoke to mother-tongue standard
I also speak and understand French and can read and understand Spanish and Italian, Danish and Norwegian.
I did Russian at high School but that was way too many years ago now.
I'm trying to learn some Turkish as I've fallen in love with the country.
I have a gift for language and it comes naturally to me. I also have a degrees in Dutch Language & Culture and Modern Linguistics. :blushing:0 -

2) German (high intermediate)
3) Spanish (conversational if the person I'm speaking with doesn't mind being confused)
4) Arabic (used to be intermediate conversational in Palestinian dialect; can read fussha very, very, very slowly)
5) multiple languages-- (I know enough to start an awkward conversation and then stare blankly at the speaker as they respond)0 -
