I have 8 months until my 50th bday. Menopause, a hernia and injuries have plagued me, but I'd like to start the 5th decade 50 lbs. lighter, mostly to help joints and be healthier.
I know what to do, but just need competition. It's the cats and I, so not much support. I won a $1k fitness challenge in my late 30s so I know how, but the setbacks make it more challenging and I can just workout crazy as hernia gets irritated.
Anyway looking for positive competitors to motivate and challenge one another. I'm not obsessed about looks, just want to be healthy. Only reason I care about the weight is to help joints. I'm low maintenance and please if you are obsessed w looks or wrinkles, I'm not a good match. Just want to be fit for 50th.

You and I have similar goals. I want to lose about 27 kg before I shack up with my long distance girlfriend. I'm guestimating that's going to be around August next year, but I don't know exactly because I'll see her one month after a get the booster covid-19 vaccine. Obviously I don't know when that's going to happen. Anyway let's compete for the next 8 months.
I want to eat at a constant 6,000 KJ and exercise (running) for 45 minutes every day. I'm not fit so I can't start at 45 minutes, I'm planning to start running tomorrow so let's see what I can do.
I'll post here initially, I'll friend you because messaging apparently is not reliable when people aren't friends.2 -

I have 9 months until my 50th and about 40-45 pounds to lose. I started on August 1st and have lost 10 pounds so far. I'm taking it very slowly so I don't crash and burn and gain it all back. My next goal is 10 pounds by the end of the year. I am very low maintenance and just want to be fit and healthy. I'm dealing with Plantar Fasciitis right now, but I love to walk and jog.0

@AquaFan
Congrats on the progress so far. I'm low maintenance too and the goal is health for me as well. Sorry about your feet. I have bad feet as well, but just do what I can. Slow and steady win the race.😊

I’m tracking well with food but exercise is challenging due to long shifts and new pain from the ankle I broke in Nov ‘19. I’m waiting to see the specialist mid this month so hope to reduce the discomfort soon.
How is everyone else doing?0 -
@tvm1970 Sorry about your ankle. I messed a nerve in mine and it took over a year to calm down. I have a nagging hamstring right now, but will do some movement. If you are tracking your food well, that's a good thing as nutrition does get you the best results.
You could do upper body workouts while you let your ankle heal. I broke my leg in Feb, and my job would not let me return to work, so I went to the gym most days and worked on my upper body and dropped 13 lbs. Of course covid and the gym closure put me in a tailspin, but I'm back to it.
Everyday is a new day for good choices, so keep at it. I hope your ankle feels better soon.0
