Hi All,
I'm signing up today to see if this will help me lose weight. I've tried on my own using fad diets like Slimfast and I am struggling. It's now gotten to the stage where my current weight is starting to impact on my daily life quite a lot now. I'm hoping meeting new people in similar situations and with the same goals will help me remain motivated and hopefully make a few friends along the way.

Welcome Becca, Congratulations on starting your journey to healthy eating and weight loss. Fad diets, don't work as you know. To lose weight and keep it off it has to be a lifestyle change. Find what works for you, for example I never eat back the calories I burn in exercise. It doesn't work for me, maybe because of my age Log your food honestly, no matter what. For me nothing is absolutely off limits but I will think about why I want to eat something and ask if it is really worth it to me. Sometimes it is. Don't give up if the scale doesn't move or moves in the wrong direction at times. If you eat less calories than you burn it will come off.1

Thank You! Yes that's definitely true. Fad diets only work for so long I lost almost 3 stone then gained most of it back within a few months of not doing the diet whereas I had more success with calorie counting and portion control and a firm exercise plan for the week, so hoping I can fall back into that routine and stay on track this time.0
