Oh, wow... the memories!!! There was pretty much *always* something made by Hostess in my shiny plastic lunchbox!! I'll take my mini-muffins & crackers'n cheeze with a side of gushers and a squeezit, Mom... thanks!!!0

not in MY lunchbox- i was so embarrassed by the fact that the only treat i ever got was low-fat jello with a giant green label telling everyone that it was, that i stopped eating lunch in 6th grade
ALWAYS wanted these, desperately- when i got a car i ate all the junkfood on that list and more, but not sure if i ever got around to buying these, or if they even still made them in 2005 :P

Oh y'a'll are "johnny come latelys" :drinker: My generation was making bad choices in the 50's, 60's 70's ! . My mom was a great southern cook. Translation: vats of breaded and fried stuff....chicken,fish, squash, potatoes,. You name it, mom could fry it. And smother it with gravy!! I'm not sure why we now refer to that stuff as "comfort food" since a too tight pair of jeans is anything but! So had to learn a new way to eat and cook. There probably was some mom from Ancient Greece saying the same thing:) "Gotta give up the stuffed grape leaves". Good luck to all of us on our journey to good health--and comfortable jeans!0

Daveygravy, when I was fat at 4 it figure it was mom's fault. When I was fat at 40, it was MY fault. Mea culpa! Congrats to ALL of us who have owned up and put ourselves on the gravy--er success--train.0

I was pretty fine till I was eating my mom's cooking. a little plump yeah, but that too was not the cooking but probably the way I ate. Later though, when I had the pocket money and living in the hostel, I got too comfortable with my boyfriend. Eating out everyday! The first 15 days of the month, he would spend, the next 15 days I would, as we got our money in that order. Later when we started earning, whoa.. there was no stopping us. Pizza every day, that too cheese burst! And go out late in the night for midnight buffets.. No wonder we are at these sizes...
edited to say: My mom never gave me junk food for lunch, she always gave freshly prepared food. I got to take instant noodles only once that too when I insisted on them.0 -
OMG!!! Dunkaroos! Those were a STAPLE in my daily lunch!
Gushers too. Sooo gross!!!!
All that after my S'mores Pop Tarts for breakfast.
And then McDonald's Chicken Nuggets with Sweet n Sour sauce and french fries for dinner.
I can't image why I was a fat kid...0 -
my mom would have pretty much cut off her own pinkie finger before willingly giving me any of that crap . . . not that school lunches faired much better . . .0
