    fat has 9 calories a gram. Added fats can help. Eat food with a higher calorie density that don't trigger your immune issues. best wishes

    Do you have trouble getting fda recommendations for protein oh 0.8g/kg of lean mass? Protein is probably the worst macros for weight gain. Protein is far more satiating that fat or carbs. I would suggest eating non satiating carbs, like added sugars and fats to get calories in if that is a problem.

    what are your stats. Height, weight, age, gender? MFP suggested calories for weight gain? Are you having trouble getting hungry? Always full? No appetite?

    Not really having a problem with eating just finding the right food on how to gain weight with a autoimmune disease bc a lot of food gets me dizzy and pressure built up from my immune disease

    I have had much interaction with this nice lady. Might I suggest you look into using her if you can afford it. BTW... I am in no part of this business, just my opinion that she might be able to help.

    Eating more calories than you burn is how people typically gain weight. Make sure you factor in your exercise too, as that adds to what you burn. Assuming you've put your stats in to the MFP guided set up and have a calorie goal that would cause you to gain at a reasonable rate, bear in mind that that's without purposeful exercise (assuming you entered your Activity level correctly).

    As said above, fats and calorie-dense foods will be your best bet. Without knowing what causes inflammation, we can only make generic suggestions, but having things like cheese, nuts, seeds, avocado, oil or butter (add them to your veg / salads), rice and potatoes are fairly high calorie. Protein may make you feel full, without adding as many calories as fat will.

    protein powders aren't particularly designed to trigger weight gain.

    Track your calories If possible to be sure you"re eating enough to gain weight.

    Can you get a referral to a dietician?

    I add like peanut butter and fruit and yogurt with the powder and yea I mean I have different doctors to see I’m supposed to take blood work next week. Pretty much everything I eat gives me pressure in my head so not sure why. But I’m trying to drink shakes bc it’s a lot of calories and I can just drink it fast

    Peanut butter is a great idea.

    My doctor is wise enough to realize that standard training on nutrition is inadequate and referred me to a dietitian :)

    If you can't get a referral to an RD, do increase fats. Peanut butter is a great calorie booster.

    @singingflutelady might have some advice.
