Which kind is best? I have really enjoyed eating MINUTE (whole grain) rice. I was wondering if it is healthy. Also, if not, then which brown rice is better for you. Brand etc.?

I eat the stuff that takes forever to cook, but has the most fiber and is really the most nutritious: Long Grain Brown Rice. I cook tons of it in a huge rice cooker and freeze it in meal-size freezer bags. It lasts FOREVER this way, and when I want to have rice with dinner, I just take it out of the freezer and heat it up. This is very handy in our household, as I have three boys, (teen, tween, and elementary), and they can easily eat Bill Gates outta house and home. Sometimes, if I am feeling adventurous, I cut up a green onion, some bell pepper, and other veggies, saute them, and then throw the refrigerator temperature (not frozen) rice in the pan and reheat it that way. YUM!

As long as you are eating whole grain brown rice, I can't see how a brand will make a difference. I buy organic from the bulk bins which is way cheaper than buying it in the boxes or bags!

i would say just make sure if you're buying s "convenience" brown rice to watch out for the sodium content s most processed foods are loaded with it. that's why it's better to buy it in the bulk/bagged format and just cook it yourself to get the best nutrients out of it.

I agree, much cheaper indeed! Also on the brands, if it's brown rice I buy the cheapest brand if I don't happen to be near the health food store with bulk items.
