Hi! I am new to myfitnesspal. This morning I came across zig zag calorie counting. Has anyone is this group tried it? If so, good or bad, please share your experience. Thanks!

I have kind of tried it. I was at 1200 net for about 6 months and then bumped up to 1400 net for a couple of weeks and lost 4, and now I am back down to 1200.

But either way, I still have days that I am hungry so I eat more.

    Good luck!
  • Hi, yes I do my calorie counting this way. It's supposed to be a good way to shake up your metabolism. I do 1300 cals 3-4 days, then 1700, 1300 for 3-4 days, 1700, etc. Those calorie amounts are based on my weight and activity, so I'm not sure what your numbers would be exactly. It's a nice break in the week, too. I've rearranged it when I know I have an event coming up where I'll want to splurge. My personal trainer recommended this system and so far I like it.
  • I'm going to give it a try in a few weeks if I don't get out of this plateau.....Good luck!

I haven't tried the actual Zig Zag calorie counter but while I log every bite, I look at my calories over a weeks period and look for my weekly average. As long as I'm on track over a week's period of time I don't worry as much about my daily over/under. This goes for nutrients as well as calories.
  • thanks everyone! I think i'm going to try it next week. I was given a daily total from the zig zag calorie counting site. we'll see how it goes! :)
