Waxing smooth for men a good idea?

So my Bf is always bugging me to stay waxed (I do all over) and I finally turned the tables and told him he needed to also which was kind of a joke but he took me seriously and waxed everything including his legs and his armpits which is a little weird. We’ve been dating for like 3 months and I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s seems a little metrosexual for me but I dunno his smooth skin does feel good against mine.
Anyone have any experience with this? What do you think?

I wouldn't touch this one with a ten foot pole.

I just dont understand the fascination with having NO body hair. Some cultures think body hair is a sign of virility. Nothing wrong with keeping things "tidy", but some things are overkill...🙄15

Personal opinion- it’s setting unrealistic expectations. Why can’t we normalize actual adult body features?24

Mainly commenting to say I'm unsure why metrosexual seems to be used pejoratively here.
If you want to have your grooming techniques then have at it.19 -
You do what works for you. I have my personal opinions but they won't matter in your relationship.9

My husband just admitted to an interest in waxing his back. I'm trying to be supportive without acting too excited.15

I agree. When I was growing up I learnt that the growth of body hair, especially in certain parts, was a sign of evolving into adulthood. So I expect adults to have body hair - both men and women.12 -
If you guys like it, carry on. Yes, your brain will find it odd for a while, because it's not what you're used to, but that may go away. (Or not.)
I'm used to seeing women without armpit hair, so my brain found it odd when I was places where women didn't shave, but it eventually stopped registering. Ditto someone's nose ring and someone else's wandering eye (amblyopia).1 -

i know many women who are in the same boat

His body, his choice. Just as it should be your body, your choice.
Just gonna say that to me, the speed with which he jumped on your joking suggestion conjures up some thoughts about why he was so insistent that you wax all over. Of course, he may still need the OP to provide him with the "excuse" to do what he really wanted all along.2 -

Yes, your brain is programmed opposite to mine. I only have one mother and one wife, but I read enough to notice that a different fashion has developed around us over the years. So I begin to look out for it a bit more in public places like the beach, and there's no definite consensus where I am.0 -

Ha that’s your opinion1 -
Well, my opinion is irrelevant to what you should find attractive. If you like it, you do you. If its comfortable for him and to him I guess thats the important thing. Just like if you don't want to wax...your choice.3

Imo he can't tell you what to do and you shouldnt tell him what to do.. its just hair. Its not a big deal. Your body is yours and you're allowed to not always be on top of things hair wise. You have a life besides just grooming yourself. He shouldn't hound you about it.
What would you do if his body was naturally fairly hairless? Make him grow hair?4 -
I’m not going to comment on whether you will continue to find his waxed body unusual, but I will say that nobody has a right to tell us what to do with our bodies. We all find different things a turn off and it’s defo a good idea to be honest with your partner, but one should never impose our ideals on the person we love. Please do what YOU want - if he struggles to accept that then maybe he isn’t the right one for you...4

It really depends on what he feels comfortable with too and what makes him happy. Hair or no hair can be hot either way!2

I wax / shave for cycling, leave the armpits though3

Got to keep some masculinity1 -
He's just trying to be more aero. You save 6-10 watts. I mean free watts is free watts. I mean waxing your whole body seems terrible but ya know2

Lots of judgmental BS in this thread.
FWIW, I don"t measure my or other men's masculinity by how much hair they have on their head, face, body or in their pits.
It's all so ridiculous!
It's all a matter of personal preference to me and my preference was to LASER almost all of my body hair off and what's left I shave; nether regions included.
I still prefer to have hair on my head but if there were away I could stop shaving my face I'd do it; laser and waxing facial hair is ineffective.
I started doing this when I became a naturist (as opposed to nudist; there's a difference) over 40 yrs ago, where it is common for most men and women to go bare.
I am not at all self-consious about it and the wmnen I'll been with have never been shocked or bothered about it
To each their own.5 -

I have looked through the post and have not seen much "judgement".
For my statement. Well, there are several asian cultures that see body hair as a sign of virility in both men and women. Since many Asians often have far less hair than other cultures.
As far as not seeing the understanding the fascination with removing body hair..Just because I don't understand it doesn't mean I would judge anyone for doing it male or female. I dont understand why people want to travel to Mars, mean I care if they do. If you want to go there so bad, strap an Amce Rocket to your backside and light that puppy up.6 -

Well, it is the Internet. In a perfect world there'd be no judgmental BS, but this thread strikes me as being pretty heavy on "to each their own" and "you do you" posts, and pretty light on people even bothering to express their own preference.2 -

So are you saying a woman with hairy armpits is displaying masculinity?3 -
I have little body hair to begin with. No knuckle hair, no chest hair, no stomach hair, etc. So I shave off any leg hair everytime I shower and keep the rest of my hair trimmed and neat. Been doing this since my 20's.

Yes, when I lived in South Florida I frequented a clothing-optional beach and bare men were indeed common.1 -
Omg she asked for opinions. Obviously people are going to state theirs. Do or do not. Whatever. But I hope that younger people learn to never feel embarrassed by the natural processes of their own bodies.4

I don’t want to take this off topic, but am I alone in reading all these posts and thinking “ooo waxing or shaving sensitive areas - painful ingrown hairs”??! 😳😱4
