Macro percentages don't tally?

Hi, I'm interested in looking at my macros over time to see if I can correlate with performance. I can't see a facility in the app to do this so I just started putting the numbers into Excel to generate a graph. I'm entering the grams consumed for carbs, fat & protein. Am using formula to calculate the percentages of each. I've noticed that the calculated percentages I've got are significantly different to the app percentage figures. I'm dividing the macro grams (eg, carbs) by the total grams of all three macros. Am I missing something?

You're looking at the percentage of total grams consumed, whereas I believe MFP looks at the percentage of total calories consumed. Since fat has 9 calories per gram and carbs and protein only 4, that would explain the difference in percentage between the two calculations.5

Thanks for that reply. Makes sense0
