Button Up Blouses for Busty Gals?

I need to go shopping soon to buy some professional looking clothes for when I start interviewing for internships. All I really have is hairdresser clothes. Since I'm busty, I always have a hard time with button up shirts, and always need to get them tailored. It's exhausting scouring through department stores. I'd like to save time, so any specific store recommendations or brands that work for any of you who are like me (40" or so) would be great.
FYI, I have found *some* stuff at The Limited and Express, but not Lane Bryant (too large for me).

Bravissimo do a busty clothes range called Pepperberry :-)0

Have you tried Macy's or Carson's? They both carry Ralph Lauren and Jones New York. I just recently bought some tailoried blouses at Macy's from both brands. ALSO try Talbots, they have nice ones too. You'll have to pay about $70 per blouse, but they are very good quality and worth the price. You might try the sale racks too. Good Luck!
FYI I'm in a 36K right now and in a 14 blouse in all brands!0 -
NY and Co. have nice dress shirts and they are not junior sizes so you won't need a larger size to accommodate the girls. Or try a man's taylored shirt from Macy's.0

Avoid buying at "The Gap", sorry, couldn't help myself.0

my go to is wearing a cami underneath and not buttoning across my chest, but when I need to button up, Victorias secret works great, they are tailored and roomy........0

I love New York and Co. dress shirts.0 -
Blouses that are fitted in the front--with seams that run up the front of the top-- rather than tops that just have side darts--tend to fit better. And don't hesitate to wear something under the blouse and use double-stick tape where needed.0

Buy blouses that fit your bust, then take them to a tailor to have them taken in at the waist. It's a little extra $$, but worth it to have someething that fits and is flattering to your figure.0

I always buy nice t's or tanks to wear under a button up and leave it open. Or try a dress jacke instead of a blouse.0

I've had good luck with Land's End and LL Bean. I like the cami idea and have used that, too... and I'm always armed with a safety pin that I strategically place. You can't see it if you pierce just the folded over layer of the fabric near the button hole.0

old navy had these great cotton button up shirts they were selling in august, I have about five of them! http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=72302&vid=1&pid=751129&scid=7511290120

In addition to those already mentioned, I have found that Anne Taylor and The Loft are sized really well (and I'm busty) on most blouses. Also, Christopher & Banks. If you can find outlets of these and the other stores listed, you might find great deals and lower costs.
Stay away from the Marshalls/Ross type stores. I find their sizing isn't quite a good for the girls.0 -
The Limited (sometimes), Banana Republic, Ann Taylor Loft (not the regular store!), Van Heusen, INC (@Macy's)
For an interview, I've worn a nice camisole underneath and either nice jewelry or a shorter scarf. (This works so long as you don't have to unbutton your jacket.)0 -

Front darts are definitely a good idea! They will show off your waist and separate it from your breasts. (I am not sure what you mean by side darts -- am assuming those are the ones that come across the side of the breast.)0 -
I actually had a very busty friend that would sew up the front of her button-down shirts, so they wouldn't gape. But then she would have to put them on over her head and wiggle into them!0

I have enjoyed the cloths I have gotten from Chico's. They can have a very professional look, are comfortable to wear and travel well.0

That's actually a great idea. I might try that!0 -
I was reading a magazine the other day, and they said to use toupee or double-sided tape.
Makes me think of a guy friend who always sat next to women on a certain side. When I asked him why he said "Just minding the gap".0 -
yep bravissimo gets my vote!0

I don't know what part of the country you live in, but in the South we have a store called "Cato's." I buy a lot of my work clothes there. They are affordable and fit my body well. I notice a lot of African-American women shop there, and though I'm white, I joke with my black friends that God intended me to be a "sister" since he gave me big boobs and a butt. I'm a 36-38 D cup and 12-14 in pants.0

check out the Foxcroft brand at Nordstrom.

Honestly, Kmart carrys Levis Rider brand - and those button up shirts have fit pretty well, and many times have hidden snaps between the buttons. They're not the highest quality overall, but you can't beat them for properly covering your bust and not costing a fortune.0

New york and company treats me well sometimes, depending on the style. Or, wear a vest or sweater too.0

The button up is my work "uniform" of choice. I'm not big busted but I own more than a dozen button up shirts from Eddie Bauer. They are wrinkle-free and nicely tailored, so they might fit you as well. I like the idea of buying them to fit your bust and then having them altered to fit your waist, if necessary. It's a little more money to do this, but if you invest in really good quality shirts, like the EB shirts, then they'll fit you perfectly and last for years.0

So, I hit up the thrift store yesterday, and I ended up really getting lucky and actually finding some that fit me. I will get most of them tailored which I don't mind doing for a 5 dollar shirt. Two of them I'm going to try the sew up method since they are a little stretchy and I think will work well with that method.0
