In the 6th grade, I was 5'6" and 120 lbs. Everyone else was small and about 70lbs. I thought I was a cow. Crazy right? My grandmother raised us. She was southern. Raised on a farm. Everything we ate was covered in lard and deep fried. Good kids cleaned their plates. Done in at an early age by southern yumminess. My teenage years hit and so did my weight gain. I left my bike behind for video games. The ample body mass grew as my self esteem dropped. There were no dates. No dances.
Around the age of 20, I moved away. Being broke I had no choice but to walk everywhere. My eating habits still weren't great but I couldn't afford much food. I lost 70 lbs. I felt pretty and wanted. Maybe a little too much. Lol. That year I lost weight and gained a baby.
Being a single mom, I lost focus. I ate anything I could fit in one hand. The weight came roaring back. Back to low self esteem. Back to not caring even though it hurt when my mom whispered about my growing tummy.
Fast forward to now. I did a dna test. At the age of 51. That's how I found a sister literally half my age and a background of diabetes and cancer. So I took myself to the doctor and ran a full blood panel. My vit D was 8. My A1C was in the range of insulin. My thyroid was dying. Something had to give.
I quit sugar in a drastic way. Strictly water. Lowest of carbs I could eat. Well, it turns out life is about balance. Not paying attention to my fat, my fiber or my protein created a problem. I didn't have a bm for 10 days. It took a ton of products and quite a bit of pain to resolve. I do not recommend it.
That's when I found this app. Now my carbs are still low. Not officially keto low. Around 45 a day. My protein is moderate and I eat lots of healthy fat. 55 lbs down from 324. It feels great. If I can get down to a more normal weight, I'm going sky diving..wearing a sexy outfit under my jumpsuit. Wish me luck.
