Should I record weight gains too?

I record my weights on Sunday mornings. But I weighed 2 days early and was so discouraged that it appears I am gaining weight now. I have slacked up lately and its catching me fast! I just hate the thought of putting on paper a gain rather than a loss. If come weigh-day I am still showing a gain, should I record it? Do you?

  • I do but it is my way of keeping it real. It is up to you to decide, however weight flucuates daily so if you are up now and maybe have increased sodium consumption drink up on the H20, it will flush it. and by sunday am, then if you still have a gain log it on the official weigh day...... :) good luck

I'm pretty new here but have done WW online and yes, I recorded gains. For me it was pretty psychological - confess it, own it, and put it behind me. I also think it provides a more accurate picture of what is working and what is not over the long run.
I'd write it and move on - each meal is a new start! Good luck!

I do record gains, but only if i have gained on the day of my actual weigh in.
Only recording your weight on MFP one day a week (sundays) would be best :) xo

That's what I would do too.

I record gains if it's my logging day. Other times I weigh during the week, if I'm up, it's just one of those fluctuations. I figure the numbers will go down again eventually.

My weight fluctuates about 3 lbs. so I had been wondering if I should change my total also. I hate to because I was happy when I lost it before, but I guess I will change my next Monday if I'm still up. Need to stay honest !!

weigh in once a week. i can go up several pounds the day before weigh in, and then be down lbs the day of weigh in. however, if i find then i have gained, i log it. all part of the journey, maaaan! xo

I would do, yes. It helps you gain a better understanding of what does and doesn't work, as well as your body's natural fluctuations.

I record excatly what I weigh on weigh-in day regardless. If I didn't I would just be cheating myself!
