Teaching swimming calories

I don’t wear my Fitbit in the water! D’y’reckon trailing up and down the baby pool stopping kids from drowning would equate to one aqua aerobics session? 🤔 I am sure I deserve some exercise calories for this! 😉

Honestly, if this is something you do regularly for work, i'd be counting it as part of your everyday activity level.

Just started last week. It will end in a week or so as the schools finish their swimming programs. Then I might get a bit of individual work in January.

sure. Log it as, "Walking 1 MPH for XXX minutes." But only when you're actually walking, so maybe 10 minutes out of an hour...for 45 calories or so.

Not worth it. That's not enough for even a small apple.

Just consider it a one-week bonus that isn't even much of a bonus. I would think it would be similar to vacuuming. Negligible.

Well, I will just allow it as a bonus. (Trailing up and down through water lugging children is a bit more tiring than vacuuming, I must say! 😉)

I have a toddler and we've swam many, many times in a pool or in the lake over the past 2 1/2 years and I have never counted it for exercise.

    Two options:

    1) Readjust your activity level to a more active one without including water sessions.

    Or

    2) Add it as your exercise, whether it be treading water or water aerobics, as long as it's not already included in your daily activity level.

There is also an entry in the MFP exercise catalogue for “water jogging”. Maybe that?

I think it sounds good, would work!

Might look at the water jogging! I did actually change my settings to a more active one...
