I had a ridiculous dialogue with my scale today. I think it wants to make me sad, but it's not going to work. Yes, it is up 4.6 pounds from yesterday, but it's an anomaly. So I think I might not post my starting weight as end-of-November. I think I'll go with my weight last Saturday. While using today as a starting point almost guarantees I will be successful in losing a bit in December, it's not for real.
Some days the scale just doesn't want to play nice. We shall see what it wants to tell me tomorrow!3 -

Sounds good! I will give it a try. I got down to 188 in march before covid and have just now decided to get back up and get a move on. It always feels better to step into a new year already feeling good. Best wishes to you all!

Hi! First timer here for an accountability group - trying to lose some of the persistent baby weight, which has been so much harder during COVID. Hoping this will help keep me more on task especially during the holidays.

Realised I won’t be weighing in tomorrow. Just reduced my calories slightly because sleeping more seems to make me burn less...1 -
Heaviest weight: 175.4 in early 2013.

I report scale weight and (ten day average weight), and I post on Saturdays.

Total loss for November: An insignificant amount by ten-day average. Zero! That one-day scale weight end of November was an anomaly, so I can't with honesty actually say I lost a couple pounds.
Note: My starting weight was November 30. If you looked at my one-day weight the very next day (December 1) it had dropped five whole pounds, and my ten-day average was just a hair lower at 149.2. I make it a goal not to sweat the one-day measurements and focus on the long term trends. Of course now my ten day average is up, but whatcha gonna do?2 -

I love it that you're trying to make a SMALL goal for the month. A half pound every week would be 26 pounds in a year. Keep that steady pace and you'll get to your goal weight in July! Seems like a long way off, but starting today gets you there quicker than starting in January!4 -

I liked someone’s challenge which was just not to gain over December. I think that’s a good goal for me right now.
I increased my daily calorie deficit (I use a FitBit for exercise calories) to 500kcal, because sleeping more meant I was burning less, and it seems to have worked.

Total loss for November: I am pretty close to where I started the month, but that's not all a bad thing because the first couple weeks of the month my mass kept going up. I seem to have found the end of that and am once again working back down to the middle of my maintenance range even with buttermilk biscuits and potato latkes.
