Has anyone experienced a significant amount of weight loss when first becoming pregnant? At first I thought I was doing well with calories... but I've lost almost 20lbs in under 3 weeks and the only other time I lost that much that fast was when I was before (misc.), just didn't know if this is an actual early sign? Thank you

I did lose weight with my second pregnancy. I was probably 30lbs overweight when I got pregnant- I didn't lose it as fast as that but I did weigh less when I was 9 months than when I conceived.
I don't know if that's any help...0 -
so it's been a while for me, but....I would suggest that this situation warrants a call to your obgyn, since that's a significant amount of weight loss, and you don't want to deprive the baby. Good luck!0

Both of my boys I lost weight up until the third trimester - then I made up for it.0

I lost weight and it turned out I had gestational diabetes. Ask for an early check (they usually check at 28 weeks).0

With my last pregnancy I lost 10lbs....But it could have been an indication something was wrong, the pregnancy lasted 10 weeks and my weight came off in 6 weeks, I really don't understand the weight loss. I've never done that before and it was technically the 5th pregnancy for me. Everyone is different. When I was pregnant with my fourth pregnancy, I was trying to loose weight before I found out and I couldn't loose weight...I lost 6lbs in about 2 or 3 months.0

I lost a lot of weight when I was pregnant. I was already about 30lbs overweight at the time and I was really sick during my pregnancy so I kept losing. My OB wasn't too worried cause the baby was still healthy and I was overweight to begin with. Slowly during the 3rd tri I gained it back. So I technically only gained 6lbs during my whole pregnancy.0

I lost 30 pounds when i was pregnant and felt like i was eating like a hourse. I was 40, so everything was monitored. The baby was fine they just said having the little one in me kick started my metabolism. Always is good thing to check though.
