In viewing a lot of the success stories, I am struck by how much younger many of the after pictures look than the before pictures. I know that l appear older the more weight tend to carry. On the other hand, on at least one of my previous diets, I probably lost too much weight. I let the BMI determine my stopping place without factoring in that one size does not necessarily fit all. The same thing held true then. I think i looked older. Maybe i just did not appear to be healthy. Has anyone else notice this weight/age appearance correlation?

I've noticed that when people lose weight in a healthy way, they tend to look younger. When they lose weight in an unhealthy way (like starving themselves, not working out, etc...) they look older. Just my observation.

I have to agree with the statement, my sister lost a lot of weight after a recent separation and stress made her lose alot of weight, she's thinner now, but doesn't look healthy, or younger.
  • I agree healthy you look younger unhealthy no exercise you look drawn which makes you appear older looking
  • As the saying goes, "Don't lose your *kitten*, to spite your face."

When I was ill with food poisoning a while back, I last 14lbs in a week, I was the lowest weight I'd been ever and I looked shocking!! This time I'm doing it sensibly and look much healthier for it.

I received several comments on my before/after stating that same thing. That I look at least 10 years younger. You can see my before/afters in the link at the bottom of my sig.
