Hideous Arms.

Will they ever go away? It seems like even when I do lose weight they just stay the same size. I am buying shirts two sizes too big just to get my arms in the sleeves, and the rest of the shirt hangs on me like a sack.

Hideous!

Please tell me there's hope!

Omg I'm with you girl!!! My arms are huge ! And it seems like they don't wann go away; ( I really like my bottom half it's a nice size but then my arms my bobs and my face are too big!

Anybody have any good tips on how to get them down ?
  • Are you toning or just doing cardio? You might want to try doing some arm toning machines at the gym, or if you dont go to the gym, push ups, and 5lb dumbells will do the trick too!

Ugh I'm right there with you!! No matter how much I loose, my arms have always been big and flabby. I wish I had a solution....but sadly you can not spot reduce. We can only eat as healthy and clean as possible, keep working out, make sure to incorporate enough strength training into our routines and hope for the best:ohwell:
  • Give yourself time :) I've only just now started to see a change in my arms after two months - and it's only very slight, but's it's really made all the difference xxx

I think my arms will always be a little "loose," but weight lifting sure has helped LOTS. Ive always had big arms. As a teen my aunt even told me I, "had my grandmothers arms," AKA I had grandma arms. but having a little shape to them now sure does help the situation.

Focus on Tricep arm exercises(google some!) with dumbbells that are heavy enough you can only do 3 sets of 8-12 reps without muscle failure. Do it every few days after your muscles get healed from the last set, it will tone up your 'bat wings' without adding any muscle bulk. I have a routine of 4 different moves I do every few days that has helped a lot! Other than that you just need to keep focusing on losing body fat percentage, your body will eventually have to take fat from your arms!

I have the same problem!!! I am small chested, but big armed. So I can wear a XL shirt, but then I can't fit the sleeves most of the time. But then if I get a bigger shirt I don't fit it right because of darts, etc. Soooo irritating. But I remember having less problems with this when I was 180lbs so I have hope they will reduce and be a little more proportional in the future as I lose. I'm never had small arms but this is the worst ever!
  • Well you can't spot reduce fat so exercising the arms specifically just to make them smaller is pointless, unless you want to add muscle then yes you would tear the muscle fiber by lifting heavy weights and with adequate protein and testosterone you will have muscular arms...which is not your case.

My advice is to keep going with what you are doing, clearly your arms is your stubborn area and the last place for your body to get fat cells to burn for energy.

Right on. I'll just win the lottery and get liposuction.

    :D

Most frustratingly, I think my boobs are getting smaller. The one place I NEED the extra fat, and they're going away! I finally got up to a B cup when I got above 200 lbs! Only good thing about being a chub.

Ah well. At least my waist seems to be going down. I will just walk around looking like Fat Popeye till I get rich. :D
  • Like others said, no spot fat reduction...but you can add shape to your arms by weightlifting. My arms are a bit bigger than I would prefer, but the weightlifting makes me feel more confident.

I've been working with a trainer for a little over two months and I must say the weightlifting has made a huge difference. My arms and back were my biggest problem areas because I'm getting married in 6 months and I don't want any flab hanging over my dress. I'm loving the way my arms are shaping up!
