I have had it and want to start taking better care of myself. Have been the ‘caretaker’ all my life. I’m done! Now it’s my time..,I’m 56, 5’2” and weigh 215. I’m in constant pain carrying this weight on my small frame. Where do I start? Need some weight loss buddies and motivation. Would love an accountability coach. Thanks! Have a great Sunday, I will be planning my journey will you take it with me?

Do you have a plan in place for accomplishing your goals?

Ten pounds at a time. Eat healthy and move more.

Good luck with your weight loss...great way to start a new year! I am 56 too, started at 185, now 180 and planning to lose 25 lbs in total. Counting calories and logging food is working so far for me....sometimes I don't realise how much I've snacked and picked until I write it all down and count the calories 😳

I started at 56, now 58, and like you I had a lifetime of caretaking. One of my (many) realizations I needed to lose weight was that I had burnt out doing stuff for others, and it was past time to treat “me” as nice as I treated “them”.

I’m down 90 pounds. It can be done, and even the first ten pounds made a massive difference in how I felt. (Begone, painful GERD!)

Have you come up with a plan? I like that you have mini goals of ten pounds. Easily attainable and reaching goals is sooo satisfying.

How can we help you along your WLJ (weight loss journey- you’ll see lots of acronyms here!)?
  • Hi Good days, I m Jacquelin Eng and age 49. I just turned 57 a week ago and am in the same boat as you all. I need to lose about 100lbs but I want to break that down to like 10lbs at a time, that way doesn't look so unattainable.
I have been down this journey before, but this time I need to do it once and for all. I suffer with so many aches with my legs and back carrying this extra weight.
I would love so.e support and motivation.
    Angie
