I just had a rude awakening thursday from my doctor. My blood results came out as I am borderline Insulin Resistance. I didn't know what all that meant so I had to google it. So I'm confused on what foods to stay away from and if I should go on medication and take some class they offer. Does anyone here have Insulin resistance??

  • I have PCOS so I guess you could say that I am as well. I am actually getting bloodwork done soon. Basically you have to limit your sugars and carbs.

My 12 year old daughter is. She has metabolical X syndrome. She is on Metformin which helps to lower the insulin. Now with the help of the medication and restricting her calories she is finally able to reduce her weight. We are going slow it will take some time to get her weight off.
  • It's something you can address quite easily with a few changes to your diet. Just becoming aware of how much refined white flour and sugar is in our daily diets is a great first step to cutting down. Increase protein and fiber instead and you won't feel deprived!
