2021 commitment to healthy lifestyle

Hi I have just cancelled my weight watchers membership as I have been working with a nutritionist and gym trainers who prefer to use MFP. I have lost 8kg so far and have a goal to loose another 10 next year. I am intending to do more weight training next year as I like cardio yoga and Pilates but think the weight training will help burn the calories from what I have read. I am 48 now so have to work a bit harder but certainly not impossible. Looking forward to the promise of a bright year in 2021 for everyone.

I hope 2021 will be good to everyone! I am 63 and have ways to go. My secret dream is that by the time I'm 65 I will be lifting weights and training hard like a body builder. Like you said, work a bit harder but not impossible.1

Best of luck to you!!! I love weight training, I find it so much more fulfilling than cardio, although I know I need to do both. Sounds like you have some great goals and congrats on the weight loss so far!

I do all three. I don’t count the weight training calories because it’s so stop and go I don’t feel like I burn that many.
I’ll certainly take the benefits, though!
All three are very complementary. The balance, breathwork and drishti focus of yoga helps with the weights. The strength of weights helps with yoga, particularly arm balances. And the core work in Pilates helps with all of it!2
