Hi, I'm Ted.

I started using the MyKeto app in 2017, very successfully dropped from 265lbs to 175lbs in one year and have remained a a stable normal weight (and off all meds) since then. I switched to MFP after a while because data integration to other apps on my Apple products was seamless with MFP.

With one exception I've been satisfied with MFP, my exception has been MFP has been slow to provide support to keto diet followers. Recently MFP began providing Net Carb for mobile users which I do appreciate, but not available on my computer.

I download my MFP data to a grocery list spreadsheet file I made to track daily meal costs. Lookup would be simplified if both mobile and laptop were the same.

I was wondering if anyone else was tracking daily meal costs and would like to share their approach?

I have been tracking my food costs since COVID, but not meal costs. I shop at a few different grocery stores, and I just track what I spend at each, plus my local fish market. Weekly is good enough for me.

I have found MFP to be a very helpful tool. I hope you do too.

    MFP is a great tool.

I only cook for myself, don't buy in large sizes. Aside from what's available in MFP, I'm interested in seeing, graphically, that I'm staying within my net carb limits to maintain a state of ketosis and keeping a stabilized body weight, and, what it's costing me do that.

I built a spreadsheet workbook that starts with a grocery list containing each item of food that I have in MFP. I populate each item with purchase package size and cost at time of purchase, the serving size and use a simple formula to cost the serving size from the purchase price.

I download my daily meals from MFP to a second spreadsheet in the workbook, execute a lookup by item to yield serving cost per item for that day to provide cost per meal and a total for the day, additionally I capture the carbs and fiber to calculate net carbs per meal and days total, and, I do add in my body weight each day as well. I generate a line graph showing each days net carb, cost and body weight.

Wishing you the best in the new year.
