The rule I've always followed it cardio for weight loss. Strength training for toning, light weight more reps will keep you lean. Hope that helps.0

Jillian Michaels DVD's: Ripped in 30; 30 Day Shred; or Killer Buns & Thighs. You will lose inches first before the legs buff up.0

I just started doing the Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 and after 5 days I've already lost 1 inch on waist and 1 inch on hips. Those are the only 2 areas I took measurements. But I already love her DVD's. Getting her Buns and Thighs tomorrow. Can't wait to do that workout too.0

Just keep losing weight Every time your body needs to use your fat cells for fuel it decides which areas of your body too look first.
You body finds fat cells in certain areas easier than others. Once the fat cells are empty in those 'easy' areas are empty then the body will start looking for fat cells in other parts.
That's why everyone has parts of their body that's the "first to lose fat" when they start dieting. To lose fat in the parts that lose fat last you just need to get to your ideal body fat percentage.
That being said targeting body parts is still good because you build up the muscle in those parts. Once the body fat starts disappearing from that part the muscle will show through. Not that you have to be body builder big either. Just nicely developed muscle under the skin will give that body part a nice shape.0 -

Walk! Brisk walking for long periods of time....i.e. 30 minutes to an hour 4-6 times a week really helps lose weight and get lean. Get your heart rate up and keep it up for an extended period of time, you will not bulk whatsoever. Easy as that!0

Welcome & Good luck!
Try to envision the achievement of your goals, for example the happy image of you having lost 2 stones, you CAN do it!
Regarding losing fat on legs (or abs, hips or anywhere for that matter), my understanding is that true "spot weight loss" does not exist. So, what can be done is doing cardio to lose weight overall, and you can tone and "tighten" your legs as you do the cardio (jogging, stairmaster, stationary bike, walking, etc.), i.e. as you build lean muscle in your legs, they will appear more shapely and firm.
I believe the legs (or any muscle for that matter) will not get "big" unless you purposely strength-train them with heavy weights. So doing cardio, won't give you "bigger" legs at all, and it definitely is necessary towards losing the 2 stones you're after.
Good luck!0 -
Exercise will not make them look big. Without exercise, you might lose weight but still look fat. Do lots of cardio and they'll slim down.0
