I've done My Fitness Pal before but decided to try some other plans. I'm back. Some of those other plans were very clunky and hard to use. None of them had the quality data bases for searching foods like that used my MFP.

Thanks for the welcome. I also signed up for the Premium part of the site. Is it really worth $49.99 per year?

Situational: It has some nice features, like the plans and workout routines (there may be a limited number of sample ones in free MFP, not sure); the ability to vary goals by day; setting macro goals in grams; and that sort of thing. Some people like it just because it's ad-free and for some will load faster (I haven't noticed a difference).

If you've used free MFP before, and have premium now, you'll probably be able to tell which things are special in premium, vs. new in MFP. If someone were totally brand new to weight loss/fitness, I'd probably suggest that they try free MFP for a while, then learn a little about the premium features and see whether they sound attractive. Just understanding the basics can be plenty for a new person to take on (though new people might find the plans/workout routines helpful, I admit).

There are a few people who are motivated to do something if they spend money on it, so there's maybe that, in theory, too.

Thanks for the information. So far, I don't see that Premium is much better than the free version, for me.
