I don't, as long as I stay within my calories for the 24 hour period. I don't believe it makes a lick of difference WHEN you eat the calories, just that you do.

makes no difference, BUT if it helps you adhere to your diet then feel free

Dr. Oz recommends no eating 3 hours before you go to sleep.

One nurtritionist's take on that is the funniest I've ever heard: "There is no 'witching hour' when calories suddenly become evil and turn into fat if you eat them."

I try not to eat anything after 7pm.
  • I don't know if it actually makes a difference, but I am trying to be done with my eating by 8:30. Sometimes with 2 little ones though it can be hard and I find myself eating dinner at 8:30 or 9

I don't eat after dinner (and we actually eat pretty early). I found that eating most of my calories by early afternoon actually increased the weight loss vs. eating most of them in the evening. I'm guessing it probably has something to do with burning more calories when you're up and moving during the day vs. not burning much while sleeping. It could just be how my body responds to food but that's my experience.

I stop at 6pm. Bed at 930, wake up at 530.
  • my sleep cycle changes so much day-to-day, if i had a cut of time of say 10 pm there would be weeks where i wouldn't be able to eat anything because i woke up at 11pm. i count my day starting from when i wake up, and try to eat meals every 4-5 hours, and not eat directly before sleeping.

I don't think it makes a difference. In fact there are studies that say so. I often don't get home from the gym til 8pm or later so a cut off wouldn't work for me!
