I do The 17 day diet which is like that...17 days very limited carbs, next 17 days add a little more and so on. I have lost 32 pounds in 4 months.

Oh yes...and I use MFP as well to make sure I stay around the calories I should.
  • I really appreciate the answers....I only counted carbs to make sure they were low enough for my body to go into ketosis, to start burning the fat for fuel in which I would have to realize I needed to eat because it tricks the brain into making you feel full. I was wondering if it were possibble to do that and count calories....And Im finding out the anwers is YES.......Thanks for the replies....

one of the nice things about this site is how customizeable it is. i love that i can adjust my carbs and fat and such to say just want i want, carbs to make sure i stay low, and fat to make sure i get enough .
and of course calories to make sure i am not going hogwild

I love your weight loss tips! Hilarious! I watch Carbs and calories. I get Carbs from beans, fruits, nuts, and veggies. No bread, pasta, or potatoes. And when I eat those Carbs, it is a measured portion.

Carb. cycling. It's been the only thing that's worked for me to get really lean. I can get down to about 12%BF without carb cycling. But in order to get below 12%BF I got to confuse the heck out of my body.

I count calories and make sure I don't overdo it on the carbohydrates. The majority of carbohydrates that I eat come from vegetables and fruit though. Nothing wrong with that, in my book.

I haven't really tried low carbs. Is it hard to get used to?
