Introduction

Good day all,
I'm a brand new member and hopeful that I'll build a strong community of support for myself here on this site. I also hope to be a support for others too! I'm a professional executive-level worker in the field of human services. I plan to retire in three years. I'm married to a man experiencing lung cancer and Type-1 Diabetes which adds complexity to my day-to-day life. His daughter and her family (husband plus 3 under age 6) live with us too. Very helpful to have the extra sets of hands around the house. I'm an avid bird watcher, and I enjoy crafting through paper mache as well as creating rugs through rug hooking in the Nova Scotia tradition on a Cheticamp frame. I garden indoors and out and am particularly fond of my orchids, however, I have developed chronic pain in hips and knees over the past two years that has made exercise and normal mobility challenging. I am eager to reduce my weight to help ease the pain. I do experience an undiagnosed eating disorder, meaning I binge-eat regularly and particularly when things are stressful or wonderful. My preference is high sugar, high fat baked goods. I'm working on addressing the disorder and hope to use this site for support and calorie monitoring and accountability. Please reach out to me.     Do you listen to podcasts? Half Size Me is a great one. The host has lost 170 pounds and kept it off for 9 years. She discusses BED quite a lot, too.
