If the goal is to lose then macros aren't as important. Have an adequate amount of protein, then divvy carbs and fats as you like...
...as long as you're in a caloric deficit 🤷🏿♀️4 -
I think it really depends on how you want to lose. Keeping macros specific can be very helpful.
I try to keep my macros as follows:
Fat:70-80%
Protein: 15-20%
Carbs: 5-10%
Combined with intermittent fasting can be phenomenal for weight-loss.
Maybe it also depends on how much you need to lose?
Not all bodies are going through the same thing or have the same issues.
It’s not as simple for all to just say fewer calories in than are being expended. Some of us are complicated. LOL 😜

Calories in and calories out. It is as simple as that.5 -
The value of a low-carb diet is that it allows you to feel more satiated for longer (protein and fat digest slower than carbs). As a result, it makes eating at a calorie deficit easier. It also helps keep blood sugar levels stable, which helps keep insulin lower.
If CICO was the end all be all, then we would always lose the same amount of weight each and every week. That should be enough to tell you that our bodies are very complex.0 -
Weight loss comes down to calorie deficit. How you divvy up your macros depends on your personal goals/preferences.
Some people feel fuller on higher protein, some feel fuller with more fiber or fat. You'll have to experiment to find what works for you. But as long as you are maintaining a calorie deficit, you will lose weight.2
