Hello everyone. My name is Jim and I've been on this rollercoaster all my life and am looking to end the ride before it ends me. Been diabetic for a few years now and recently had to switch to new meds due to stomach issues. New meds aren't as effective but realistically, its on me not the meds. I just retired the end of January and have to keep myself active and not allow the buttocks to grow roots. Started back on MFP today and I know this is doable. I've done it entirely too many times before to think otherwise. My issue isn't doing it, my issue is maintaining the lifestyle instead of thinking in terms of beginning and end after its done. Basically what I'm saying is, encouragement is greatly appreciated!

Aye, welcome back. It’s a lifelong struggle for some, me included. Don’t stop logging, even when you reach your goal weight. Eventually you will be able to let go. However, do keep your eye on the scale and if it starts creeping upwards, get back to logging.1

Thank you. My goal weight realistically isnt the end. It's 200 pounds. I felt comfortable at that weight but in all fairness, that was 30 years ago, so we shall see. I probably need to work on the mindset of logging for the rest of my life but we shall see.
