Now that it's officially September 11 in my time zone...I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since 9/11/01.
I was in fourth grade, and still remember that day clearly. Now, I am a sophomore in college.
Take a moment throughout today to remember those who lost their lives that horrible day, for the women and men serving for our country and for everyone who was/is affected by both.
Be thankful for your life and your loved ones today.

Well said. I would like to add that it would be a wonderful tribute to everyone who lost their lives or the lives of someone near and dear to them on 9/11 or in any of these resulting wars, if ALL of the citizens in the U.S. would try a bit harder to remember the solidarity we shared after the tragedy....and UNITE.0

I can't believe it's been 10 years, it honestly feels like yesterday. I still remember exactly how that day felt, where I was, what I was doing, the questions, the fear... all of it. I'll never forget it. I never want to. People can question this war all they want. I never will. And if I ever do, all I have to do is go back to that moment, replay it in mind, watch the 2nd plane hit, watch the towers fall... No, I will NEVER question what my husband is fighting for. I will always remember.0

Fourth grade I live in NJ so most students got picked up early but I was the last one left in my class! I can see it vividly in my head still I can see the horror on the teachers faces pretending nothing is wrong I see my mom crying and I see the plane hitting the towers over and over and over again it feels like yesterday!0

Today I am a New Yorker, a firefighter, a cop, an office worker, a Pentagon staffer, a passenger on a plane, a first responder. I am crushed by loss, made speechless by countless acts of courage, in awe of heroes. I am heartbroken but healing, shaken but resilient. I am an American. I will never ever forget and terrorism will never EVER win.0

In Illinois, erhm at least the chicago suburb i was living in... we had late arrival day the second tuesday of every month ... 1030 am or something instead of 730 am... I remember, It was my first late arrival day ever my freshman year of highschool I was the only one home and hadn't had to leave for the bus til later, listening to the radio the weirdo asswipe dj used to make sick and wrong jokes and said that an airplane crashed into a world trade centre building in new york city and that everyone needed to go turn on their televisions, it wasn't a joke he said.
I was curious so I put my eyeliner down and went into the living room and clicked the tv on. My boyfriend says i have the time wrong bc ny was an hour ahead of us... but i know i saw the second plane hit on tv live... i didn't know what was going on i wasn't really too clear of what the world trade center buildings were but i fully understood the magnitude of the lives that were ending... and what it meant and it made me cry. It was almost unreal... i didn't watch as the buildings fell, as I had to get to school. The bus was practically empty, the crazy busdriver had the radio on covering the hysteria of the morning.
We didn't do much work that day in classes, a lot of people weren't even in class the parents were afraid.
I remember there were threats of schools being hit ...
I remember they evacuated buildings in the city of chicago because it was another major city... I can remember a hazed over fear of not knowing what was coming and the start of the bombing in Afghanistan
I don't think honestly if there were to be another attack quite as severe, that they would carry it out on 9/11 when security is at its height... in 2001 we lost lives, we lost and gained more humanity towards others, we lost our sense of safety and our little sliver of privacy we had left... its just sad that all the bickering and stalling in our government sectors/parties... continues. Even in the wake of the memory of that horrific day, even after uncontrollable natural disasters ravish our towns, once this day passes the fighting will begin again. the importance of life seemingly forgotten.
whatever your religion, whatever your political stance... never forget that in the end it all comes down to caring about and helping your fellow man... without gain.0
