Are all protein powders created equal?

I was using EAS chocolate protein powder but it gave me bad stomach pains and gas. I stopped using it and gave it to my brother in law. I really like using protein powder and am hoping maybe a different brand would not cause the same symptoms. Before the EAS I used Jillian Michaels protein powder and it didn't seem to have the same affect on me. Should I go back to that or is there something better on the market?

Morning! My hubby used to drink chocolate "Muscle Milk" (found at GNC) - no side effects that he complained of (gas, stomach pains, etc) - and it tasted good! No funny "vitamin" taste!0

True Protein (trueprotein.com) whey protein concentrate is GREAT and inexpensive. Comes in a wide variety of flavors. You can even order it sweetened with Stevia. I occasionally add it to my Shakeology.0

I've used both the EAS, and Muscle Milk, and got not problems from either. Maybe you can buy a single dose of pre-mixed of several brands from the store and see if any of them will cause you problems. My guess is that maybe you are allergic to something in particular in it.0

Jay Robb has a great line of protiens. They are a natural blend. Vitamin shop has them!!!0

i have the same problem with six star vanilla. I typically use body fortress, syntrax nectar, or ON nutrition brands, just because of the nutritional lineup and cost. I also like muscle milk and protein blitz when i can find them.0

Whey Protein concentrate contains lactose which may cause upset stomach to those who are lactose intolerant. Whey Protein Isolate doesn't contain lactose.0

That's what I suspected. So what are the brands that only contain the whey protein isolate?0 -

I buy Syntrax Nectar - 100 cals per scoop, 24 mgs protein, and it's whey protein isolate. It's also super yummy (I have the torte and chocolate flavors). Downside is that it's yummy and only 100 cals, no carbs, because it uses artificial sweetener so if you're against that keep looking0 -

Not necessarily against artificial sweeteners, depending on which one they use.0
