Okay, so I am 4'11 and weigh 170.0# I consume between 1300-1400 calories a day. I drink 64oz of water and engage in exercise 5 days a week. I am currently training for my first 5k so on non-run days I go for a 3 mile walk. In addition, I do a fair amount of walking at work. My problem is the scale doesn't move! It seems like I show a loss every other week and it's frustrating.

Before MFP I lost 20 pounds.. I still have at least 40 to lose to be at a "healthy" level.. What am I doing wrong?? It shouldn't be this hard..LOL

Thanks for any suggestions

You may not be doing anything wrong --- when I am losing weight (I am on a plateau right now), I tend to lose weight every two weeks. On a line graph, my weight loss would look more like steps that a downward hill. I've always been that way. That is just the way my body loses weight. I've come to accept that and try not to get frustrated (unless it has been more than 2 weeks). Maybe you are that way too?
  • i think you need to make your food diary open so people can look for any anomalies with the degree of exercise you are doing potentially you might not be consuming enough calories as you are exercising a great deal and have a active lifestyle probably best to check your BMR also what you have to remember is when you were 20 pounds heavier it made your workouts much more intensive now you have got rid of that weight it is harder to lose maybe aim for a target on MFP of 0.5pounds or 1pound also potentially you need to change your exercise routine try some other activity your body becomes used to the same exercise why not try swimming or dancing but without really seeing your diarys i am only really surmising

The secret to weight loss for me was cutting down my carbs. First few weeks I cut my carbs down to 100 per day. Then I noticed weight loss.

What is your daily carb intake ?

You could try adjusting your Carb / Fat / Protein ratios. Some people have success zig-zagging on their calories.

I'm not really sure on my carb intake. I don't care for bread so I don't eat it often at all. I eat alot of fresh fruit and veggies. I also drink protein shakes for breakfast. As far as exercise I do it all.. I swim, elliptical, walk, and now training for a 5k. I haven't incorporated weights yet.

How do you view people's food log?
