What is the difrence betwen Trans Fat and Fat Cals???? I am soo confused, on the front of the package it has the big NO TRANS FAT, and right now when I decided to add my daily toast with butter at breakfast, I FOUND OUT!!!!! Its horrible, if some one can explain it to me? the brand is country crock. The bread alsow has a lot of fat 10 and 120 cals.(1 slice) beacuse I would think bacon has fat not bread??

Everything in moderation. Fats aren't bad btw. Avoid transfat, but some fat cals can be good for you.0

the difference between good fat, saturated fat, and trans fat has to do with chemical bonds and chemistry. but basically fat cals are all of the fat cals, good, bad, and evil. and often the producers and marketers lie about the labels0

Margarine is bad... butter is better for you0

I do regular old salted butter, in the cube.. you body can break that down. I also use I can't believe it's not butter SPRAY!! When I combine those, it's all the taste and half the calories.. But I've lost 70 lbs still eating butter so a little is okay!0

I agree, stay away from anything over processed. Enjoy a little butter on your toast, it tastes better and, for me, more satisfying!0 -

i will spare you the scientific explanation but basically trans fat is any fat that is hydrogenated. it's fat that is modified in order to increase the shelf life of foods and it gives food that crispy yummy texture and flavor. it's outlawed in other many European countries because it is awful for human consumption- basically like putting plastic in your veins. Legally, the FDA permits food companies to say something has no trans fat if it contains like less than .5 grams per serving so read the labels and make sure the ingredients say nothing about hydrogenated oils (even partially) because it will contain trace amounts of trans fat. it is not saturated or polysatured fat; there are many different kinds of fat. from a health standpoint you would do better with using 100% real butter rather than a spread or margarine because butter is just churned milk. if you do not want to use butter, i would suggest earth balance vegan spread. it contains NO trans fat or hydrogenated fat and as a vegan, this is what i use as it has a buttery flavor.
Hope this helps- basically: STAY AWAY FROM TRANS FAT/HYDROGENATED FATS OF ANY KIND!!!0 -
I stopped eating margarine because it's bad for you. Butter is better for you, just use in moderation!0

There are different kinds of fat. Some are good - Trans Fats are bad. Trans Fats are fats that are solid until heated like Lard, Crisco and Shortening. Real butter has saturated fat . If the brand is Country Crock, it is probably margarine and not real butter. Both have a lot of fat but I would rather have a slither of real butter compared to a tablespoon of Margarine. I don't like whole wheat bread so I eat Merita White Bread;. One slice has 67 calories and 1 gram of fat so you may want to try a different brand of bread. If you are trying to stay away from fats, try a little jelly on the bread as it has no fat. I guess you just have to read every lable on every food you plan to consume to know what the calories, carbs, fats and proteins contribute.0

Butter is not evil.
) Really!!!! Butter is flavorful and creamy and very good when used in small amounts. There is a reason that the MFP Food diary has fat grams shown ... because your body NEEDS fat to function properly. It also needs sodium, but too much and you retain water. Moderation ... log everything you eat in your MFP diary and keep track of every part of that diary, staying with the limits recommended. Enjoy your butter ... get rid of your margarine. Butter is real food ... margarine is overprocessed junk.
